STI odometer correction

so guys i swapped out my 180 cluster for a 260 cluster any1 could tell me where i can go to get the mileage corrected back to the previous cluster

The mileage is stored on the EEPROM chip on the cluster (more than likely).

You would basically have to do a mileage "roll back" I.E. What most foreign used dealers are accused of doing.

The thing is, a lot of the dealers don't do it locally. It's the dealers in Japan that do it on their behalf once the car has been deregistered. I'm sure there are local dealers that have the equipment to do it but they probably won't admit to it.

There are some ethical issues to things like this.

i guess i will leave it as is then ... have the previous 1 so i will jus keep it in case i have to sell the vehicle

I did the correction on my car due to a similar reason...what I did was take pics of the initial cluster with the mileage, while changing the cluster, new cluster with mileage then with corrected mileage. That way people will know that the existing cluster matches the mileage of the previous one.

Also know someone who is really good to actually do the adjustment and I can tell you how to scrap it properly without damaging it.

i didnt do it again .... the 260 cluster one of the jacks was different ..
