Subaru Forester XT imported from Japan - is there a way to change Japanese menus and info to English?

As stated in the subject, I'd like to know if there is any way I could modify Japanese import Subaru to display the info in English. Is there a firmware update/replacement that I could upload into the car? If there is, does it need to be done by a specialized shop or could an ordinary Joe do it? I'm considering buying a Japanese Subaru Forester (Roll-on-Roll-off import). I know that I can replace the radio with whatever is available on the market as the car has standard double bay unit, but what I'm after are car settings and voice message where everything is shown and said in Japanese....
