other thing does anyone realize that the center column running throughout the car gets extremely hot, if i have a bottle of water in the holder and drive from south to north then i can make tea with it,

apart from that can you guys recommend a few parts places/ dealers that orginal sell parts for the RX8 had to get some disc pads recently and it was not easy. ( and yes i did call souther sales all branches, eventually had to go to Anail, he was extremely knowledge able and sensible ( the man 3rd gen is ah fricking monster ), but i would still prefer to have options on who i can call.

Yep, centre console and shifter gets really hot on mine as well, it's kinda worrying to me, not sure if this is normal...

It's virtually impossible to purchase new replacement parts in Trinidad, with the exception of light bulbs and some components common to the Mazda 3/6. I purchase all other replacement parts in the US, contact GT RACING on the forum.

Ok guys a friend of mine is going to buy a auto one, when he is not in the country it will be mine, i have 3 questions:

which dealers should i check to get one, preferably that have in stock?

what are the first things i should look into to do for preventative maintainance (example engine gets really hot, upgrade rad) Keep in mind we like to put cars through their paces?

for the auto models, does a transmission oil cooler make sense? i have one home, wondering if i an put it to good use.

Sucks that the guy is buying an auto. It's really underpowered/slow compared to the 6 speed (again, the auto lacks about 50 hp compared to the 6 sp....no lie).

i am under the impression rotaries on the whole get really hot. If you run the engine too cool (due to large a rad), then you run the risk of premature engine failure (less lubrication due to thicker oil at lower operating temps).

the first page or so has some good points - follow those.

Prev m'tce - spark plugs and plug wires as your first bet. these engines I'm told use a unique plug, so no ordinary one will do. talk to some of the local ppl who know about these engines to se what the part number is.

and don't use synth oil. at all.

I want to make sure all the Trini 8 owners know about the parts we provide. It's an honor to serve Mazda owners in Trinidad.

The RE-medy water pump and thermostat. Every RX-8 should have these items. The water pump found in the FD RX-7 and that of the RX-8 are both poorly designed in impeller. We addressed that and also created the only 76 deg thermostat for the RX-8 in the world. Our high flow pump and low temp thermostat are unique in that regard and are in cars in Italy, Spain, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, United States, Puerto Rico, Cyprus, Germany, Israel and many more countries.

I will be in Trinidad this week through the end of the year. I may bring one or two to show.

Here is a video we did a few months ago. Mazda sends us their top race cars when they need to be overhauled. This one is a 787.

Rx8 guru's I need your advice, I am thinking about buying a 2010 rx8 5 speed manual, however the owner says the engine check comes and it misfires, when he scanned it nothing came up. Can drives great by the way. He told me he changed coil packs to aftermarket. Should I be worried about the misfire? Don't know much about the rx8..
