You can get a dash kit for the mazda to allow aftermarket head unit installation

what skylinechild said.

The module would be for your steering wheel controls to work with the deck.

I changed out mines for a double din. So it takes up the entire space.

When you remove the oem deck, see if that upper lcd screen can be detached, you can bolt it back on so it wouldnt leave a space above the deck.

no need to reattch any OEM LCD screen . theres two bracket versions one for single DIN and one for double DIN.

when buying ,you buy the bracket to suit the type of deck you want. single DIN comes with pocket and double DIN bracket is good to go as is.

so single DIN doesnt need to connect bk anything..

I was referring to the lcd screen just below the hazard light switch. on some models it is not detachable from the stock deck.
