I have got mine since 2012 and no major issues. I got and loud bang once about a year and a half ago. I went back to McEnearney and they updated the Transmission software. Works like a charm since.

I own a 2014 Ranger and have had transmission problems. I took it to the dealer as it is on warranty. The vehicle was sent to a mechanic outside of the company. It spent about 25 days there. They said they did a transmission overhaul. After one week it's back there for rough gear change. My Ranger is only 36000km. I'm worried about the future with this vehicle. I also do not agree with the fact that I bought a new vehicle and it has overhauled parts in it. How long would these parts last ? I don't know. I want the vehicle changed.

The thing i don't understand is transmissions have been around for ages , the old 280c and Royal Saloon and many other older cars never had transmission problems. These guys improving it but they riddled with problems.
I really don't feel comfortable with a high priced vehicle like the Ranger doing 35000km and carrying repaired parts. The dealership isn't fixing the vehicle and from what I understand they not even sourcing the part. That is left up to the outside mechanic. So the dealer doesn't even know what the hell was changed or repaired. Spoke to a technician who works in Ford Canada. He said they were supposed to change the whole transmission.

I kno someone who had similar problems with his ranger transmission. They upgrade d software an same problem. It was the torque converter which is defective. They not telling ppl this. If your vehicle is under warranty, let dem fix it. His van remained at the firm for 3 mths. He had gotten a replacement vehicle while his was fixing
