Always heard that Lifestyle in south gives a better service than the one in Barataria. I was in Barataria last week and noticed that a few of the South technicians and Supervisors were transferred to there. Hopefully the service may improve as those guys share their techniques in customer service. Romel pulled me out of a bind the other day. Thanks man! Really appreciated the assistance.

Apparently they changed service from every 7500km or 6 months to 5000km every 3 months. So there shall be problems

In this day and age a service interval of 5000kms is pathetic. Why can't they match the 10000 and 20000kms intervals of the Europeans? The only reason I see for the severe service interval is if the dealer continues to use the shiddy dino oil and regular filter. Why not use a full synthetic? Even with excessive stop and go traffic high quality full synthetic oils and filters can easily do 10000kms. Platinum plugs go 100000kms.....belts 80-100K kms .... air filter 40,000kms .... brake/disc pads 60000kms .... and most other fluids require a change once per year. What the hell is the need for servicing these vehicles so often?

Shorter service intervals = more services = more money for stealership.

The 2005 to 2010 Swift has a regular service interval of 15k km, as dictated by the owner's manual.
Severe service is at 7500 km. Last time I check, Trinidad wasn't severe. No hot, no cold, no desert dust to contend with.
The only thing severe about Trinidad is our roads, and those parts aren't covered by warranty.

Tell me why a 5k km service is required.

^sure you can do a 20,000KM service interval(like the euro cars) ...just plan on trashing the engine after a 3~4 years.

I applaud Lifestyle for their service interval revision! ...the conditions that our vehicles are subject to in this part of the world is quite severe in all categories(Ambient Air Temp. tarmac temperature, condition of roads, dust, bad roads ...and my personal favorite is the sitting & idling in traffic for several hours daily(this doesn't register on the ODO clock am I right?).

:drinking:

so, here is an example of what overdue service(excessively delayed service intervals) can do to your engine;

This vehicle(2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0L) has approx. 118,000KMs on the clock. There were several 15,000KM+ services carried out during its brief life(btw, 100,000KMs is NOT considered high mileage)

...and this is an example of how an on-time service interval will have your engine looking.

This vehicle(Suzuki Ignis Sport 1.5L) has approx. 180,000KMs on the clock and has always been serviced by Lifestyle ON TIME

Image

...so there you have it. I prefer to have my engine last long, so I will continue with a schedule similar to what Lifestyle goes by.

Well said Dan.

I always have agreed on this and took my sport for service on or before the 7500kms.

I think 5000kms maybe too soon.

10,000kms is pushing it with Trinidad's road condition (humidity, temp, dust and start stop traffic).

I would suggest all Suzuki owners stick to the severe condition 7500kms schedule.

Plugs won't last 100,000kms with our fuel quality.

Brake disc pads will always depend on the driving style

Our driving conditions warrant shorter service intervals and rightfully so, our conditions are very different to the US and Europe.
