What was the price on that kit from Lange?

That kit works on both the SSS and 1.5?

so i looked in the USA Exedy catalogue and there is no clutch for a swift sport. when i checked the UK catalogue i found the exact OEM clutch and part number. however this part number doesnot exist in the USA catalogue. however the UK one states 200 mm diameter plate, 20 spline.

in the USA catalogue, the corresponding clutch in the suzuki section is 200 mm, 20 spline, and 7/8 inch diameter in the spline. the part number is different though. so will this work, because its on amazon for sale, they are authorised dealers for exedy.

or should i buy from england and just be safe??

Re: My Suzuki Swift Sport ( replacement gear knob, need advi

Postby trini240z » July 19th, 2013, 2:43 am

so the swift sport badge from suzuki was a few hundred dollars, got a vinyl sticker cut for 30 dollars.

next issue: my gear knob needs to change. the rubber outer coating has cracked and is coming off, underneath is a smaller, silver metal ball. i taped it up for now, but i need some help.

i did some research and it seems that the swifts knob is a pull off, not unscrew. that means i cant get an aftermarket, screw on knob. anybody have any experience with replacing the knob (2007 or 2008)

to add to the problem, suzuki doesnt stock the knob, and none on amazon. so im at a loss as to where to get one. japanese sites have stock replacements, but that will be a scene to get.

and thoughts????? thanks guys.

from some month in 2007 suzuki switched to a screw type knob, so verify the YOM of your car cause if it is 2008 then it can unscrew, if it is 2007 there is about a 50% chance that it can unscrew; and if it can unscrew then easy fix. If not and it is a pull type, then you might want to do as many of us have and get a monster sport replacement, monster sport has screw and pull type in two designs and 2 colours, "Ignorant" on the forum can help you if you choose to go the monster route

seeing some knobs online. but they say thread size 10mm x 1.5mm.

Re: Suzuki Swift Sport ( Speaker Size? )

Postby trini240z » August 5th, 2013, 5:22 pm

i am considering upgrading the speakers in the swift soon. the bass is terrible and sound distorts easily.

i checked around and it seems 6.5 inch mids will fit. (when i measured the speaker covers they were 6 inch)
but online says up to 6.75 will fit. any advice?

also, does the stock head unit support an amp to power the Mids, im not planning on getting a Sub, just want quality sound.

thanks a lot for the advice.

Replace with some coaxials or components. Add some dynamat also. A amp might be a good idea also. You could get a good amp with hi level inputs to work with the shock Headunit. Or change it all together

I did this in my car but I do get a bit of engine noise with the hi level inputs. Others have used Hi input to RCA closer to the radio and then back to the amp which i think may be a better option.

Sound that would go to the speakers would go as a source for the amp.

or u can get a processor to convert the signal to rca to go into an amp and assist in tuning. i got a very good audio control unit for sale, if interested i can link you up. SR did quite a few upgrades on swifts so you can speak to him on it

upgraded the mids with 6.5 pioneers. the improvement is amazing, at full volume, the sound is clear and clean. the old speakers were alot smaller than the new ones, with a much smaller magnet.

next step: upgraded deck, with aux and usb input, now im using an fm frequency tuner to run my iPod, this causes alot of static. not nice with the new speakers.

then: when i get the money, possibly an amp and sub, if i feel the need for more...

updates: installed hella horns that are loud and sound amazing :)

painted my stock rims gloss black :)

painted my badly scratched front lip with some extra black paint.

Question: when parking on a hill, and leaving the car in first gear/ reverse. without handbrakes just for testing, the car rolls forward slightly, catches, then rolls, catches, then again. so the engine is turning over i guess, or is the clutch slipping and catching?? just want to know if i need a new clutch soon.

Coming soon: Black mud flaps and tinting rear lights :)

going for an all black look

thanks for all the help tuners.

Test for a slipping clutch would be to go WOT at lowish 2-3k rpms in 5th gear. If the clutch is slipping the engine will speed up and the car won't go much faster.

What you're experiencing is the engine turning.
