2007 Swift Tire Options

Postby Mini » June 26th, 2013, 6:56 pm

Tires need replacing (front are done... not sure if I changing 2 or all 4 yet)

currently run 205/50 on OEM 15" wheels. Don't like the fact that the overall diameter is so far from stock (185/60 15) so I am considering other sizes. Thinking of going to 195/55 15. What do you guys think?

Only getting the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 in that size though (for my budget). That's what I have on currently... and really not impressed by them. What else have you guys used?

I'm getting the Kumho Ecsta AST at Wheel Wizard in 205/50 and am leaning towards though (but not excited about the size as mentioned above).

Haven't bought tires in Trinidad in like 4 years... who sells Hankook?

Tyre Centre are the dealers
Tyre Clinic has the Sumitomo, ask for the ZIII
Honestly, there is no tyre that will satisfy you if u still drive like u did before u left and esp if you want to re-enter autocross
I can give you a heads up on some foreign used if you want but you may have to search in the pile.

What's wrong with the overall diameter being different from stock?

I'm using 205/50R16s and it's fine.

it just really throws off your speedo and odo. See link below for by how much:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

the 205/50 R16 is closer to the stock tire size than the 205/50 R15.

With my 205/50 R15's my speed might say 140, but I'm really only going 135 :-).

That said... I found some Falken Ziex's in 195/55 R15 .. but they only have 2... going to take the 2 for now (as my fronts are critical)... and look around for the other two

Check your speedo now. My Speedo says that I'm doing 85 when I'm really doing 80 on a GPS. Think the odometer is corrrect though.
