Greetings from Antigua. Got a 2010 swift sport. Gonna buy a swift gti, but need to know what size brake pads they use. front and rear. Any assistance will be appreciated.
bpr 6eix for the black, bkr 6eix-11 for the blue those are the NGK iridium plugs. Oil and filter is determined on how long you want to take between oil changes, 5000km or do your want more?
Thanks for the tip. NEw brakes all around on gti, but feel kinda tight....meaning i can coast a lot farther in the swift sport than the gti. For oil i put in 10-30 valvoline in the gti. For swift sport ive been using 5-30 full synthetic (dont know how long ill be able to keep it up more costly). Now for some suspension on gti....hearing some noise up front drivers side. Any thoughts?
I sugest u put the GTi on jack stands or lift it, then roll each wheel with your hand. This is to check that the brakes are not binding prematurely (can be due to stuck piston or caliper pin).

With a 5lb ball peen hammer....usually works for me!
Checked the wheels...Drivers side front wheel the most reluctant to turn, but seems all of them might have a bit too much friction. Changed the spark plugs. Gtis use heat range 6 right? Seems like the one previous owner had heat range 11 in it! For NGK the higher the number the colder the plugs right? Also got a small oil leak somewhere, although the previous owner says he changed all the seals. pics comming soon. Lastly my fuel-cut comes in a 6500 rpm. Any reason for this?? Awaiting replies.
Yes heat range 6 and yes higher number means colder plug. I have no idea why your fuel cut comes in so early unless its a different engine. Others may have a better idea.
Concerning the pin, I recently encountered one that was stuck pretty tight. When I soaked with WD40, it eventually budged with some pounding with a rubber hammer
Here are some pics of oil leak from under the car. Not sure where the leak is comming from. Only one drop ends up on the ground after a drive. Also noticed some oily moisture under the distributor cap area. Any advice? Still stumped about the fuel cutting at 6500 rpm . The engine has a K&N drop in filter in the stock air filter box; it has a lightened underdrive pulley and a walbro high pressure fuel pump. Any thoughts/suggestions?
really can't tell much by those pics....oil could be dripping from higher up and just running down. Check the sump where it seals to the block by the oil pump...that's a high pressure area.
Thanks man. Im gonna use some degreaser and clean up the engine to see if i can find the source of the oil leak. Only one drop ends up on the ground after a drive....and what a joy to drive it is None of the windows work however...previous owner says it a bad switch or channel or something...AC works though. Need help here guys!! Here's a pic of the engine bay.
