Project Gearbox: 2009 Swift Sport

Postby Big Z » December 10th, 2016, 7:30 pm

Been a while since we got some projects inside here. So below is what has been done so far on project gearbox.

Garage used: Auto Technica Workshop
Car: 2009 Suzuki Swift Sport

Upgrades to the gearbox:
1. mFactory helical LSD
2. R's Racing Service clutch release shaft
3. R's Racing Service reinforced release cylinder
4. R's Racing Service reinforced clutch push rod
5. Timken axle and input shaft seals. Not really an upgrade, but it's best to replace these as the gearbox is open.

Pressing in the new clutch release shaft bush. A long process without a ratcheting half inch spanner.

Lightweight flywheel is amazing. Car just revs so much quicker, and you can feel the difference, especially in the upper half of the rpms of the first three gears.
LSD really pulls the car along. Car feels totally different now.
