Oil/Air filter for swift

Postby swiftyjoe » February 19th, 2017, 10:39 pm

I recently bought an oil and air filter for a swift (2014 roro) but I am not sure if they are the correct type of filters for the vehicle. I could not find the recommended type of oil and air filter in the owner's manual so I resorted to asking the auto parts store to provide the aforementioned parts "for the 2014 swift".

They provided a Bosch OM061 (oil filter) and the Auscotech A905J (air filter) which I took without any hesitation. When I got home and examined the oil filter, there is this section of the packaging which lists the engine codes and I noticed that K12B was not listed on it.

I googled around a bit and found this thread, http://www.trinituner.com/v4/forums/vie ... p?t=377038, which talks about the oil filters for the swift. I cross referenced the OEM part listed, http://www.oilfilter-crossreference.com ... 6510-61A30, but I could not find the the Bosch OM061 as an alternative.

Does anyone know if it is safe to use the filters that I bought? Any experiences with them on a swift?

The Bosch OM061 is not for your engine. Centre bore is larger than it should be, so do not use.
If the air filter fits, use it.

Thank you, Big Z. I will look around to see if I can source an OEM or one of the alternatives.

I see on the link you provided that the Purolator L14477 is listed...
While I couldn't find the L14477 locally, the purolator L14476 which is a slightly shorter variation can be sourced (best price I found so far was at Ramai's auto located on the main road in vistabella obliquely opposite China supermarket 2... If you in South) but since you mention ausco I'm led to believe that you are in the North.

This size oil filter is also used on some nissan sr20 engines and also on the toyota ae101 Corolla with the 1.6 litre 4afe engine.

This should help in your search.

No problem.
It was an attempt to establish your location.... seeing that AUSCO is located in POS and auscotech is their in house brand. I have yet to see the brand in marabella and San Fernando parts places so i guessed that you were in the North.... They also have a large enough selection of Bosch parts.
I could be wrong no a$$...
How badly off was my guess?

I am familiar with Ausco as I used to source parts from them for a Skoda I had. Always had to drive to town to get parts

Well, I am from San Juan. Is Ausco a local brand? I could not find anything on them online. Their air filter looks very cheap lol but hey, the price isn't bad.

AUSCO (Automotive supplies company limited) is the parts place located on Charles Street Port of Spain. Auscotech is a brand created by them... They probably rebrand someone else's product... But for all intents and purposes, it is a local brand
As mentioned before...I have not seen the brand available anywhere else except by them... Hence the North comment

Nice, will add that to my list of auto suppliers.

UPDATE: I picked up an OEM filter from LSM yesterday. The price for it was 146; that cost more than my oil lol. I think I will look for alternatives for my next service :D.

I meant that I will try to source one of the alternatives next time since the store I usually go to don't stock those products and I don't know of anywhere that is close to me that does. Ideally, I just want to go to one place and get everything.
