My wiper blades streak directly in front of me. Every time since I ever buy them(which was 4 in my life) , they all have the same streak position and that's why I have to buy new ones. It lasts more than a year but I find it strange... I don't use it much, don't really park in the sun idk. You think its the wiper arm?

Can I pinch while wiping blades. Can I wipe the blades til there is no black on the cloth?

And these blades have graphite?

I usually use autoglym wash fluid mixed with water. I will try the chamois wet and see.

At what point did Massy say new Jetta mechatronic issues were solved with the manufacturer? Colleague of mine with a PDK series experienced failure this week. It's like a rite of passage with owning this car to go through this.

Solved since 2014/15 locally, but recalled was done as customers came into service

^^Nope ours died two weeks ago (2012 PCW model). Only serviced at Best Auto and has been there for each and every interval...even issues with the engine.

Had cylinder # 3 fail 2 years ago...then the remaining 3 fail earlier this year. Three months of waiting for approval then parts only to have the spanner of death pop up a couple weeks later. It seems as though it really is a rite of passage when it comes to Jetta ownership....and I thought we had escaped. Oh well; thank goodness for Goodwill! :| :|

Wait wait... They only change one cylinder when you first encountered a problem... That doesn't bode very well for the brand or the service. If one piston encountered a problem... The others shouldn't be far behind... Barring any isolated events

There are some items that should be serviced as a group

I find it hard to believe the changed 1 piston. Sounds suspect

Premium only...company car with a gas card. Fuel cycled by letting it run to almost empty ever so often.

Only one piston changed in the initail job. Have the emails, quotes and bills for the rebuild(s)...had to essentially bully for a response the 2nd time. Of course the months of waiting in the heat caused the headliner to drop.

That is very very peculiar since I have witnessed a few engine builds in there whereby they always replace all pistons to avoid issues like that...hmmm

Did you get the headliner sorted out?
If so where, how much, are you satisfied with the work?

Can anyone offer advice as the headliner in my 5 year old is starting to droop and I'm looking for the best option to fix it.

Thanks

If u up north, u could check Executive upholsters in aranguez Opp lifestyle motors service department. Got mine down there. Looks OEM also. There was a place further down that I saw also that had alot of high end vehicles also. So u could price shop. Not sure the name, was on the right hand side.

Looking at an original replacement http://parts.winnervw.com/p/Volkswagen_2013_Jetta-GLIATGLI-Sedan/Headliner--wo-sunroof-gray/52792709/5C6867501AM5T5.html
Prefer that than a temp solution which could drop in 2 yrs time...happened to my boss's A6. Price is better than Best Auto. ...
