Error probably needs to be cleared by VCDS or might be one of those that clears for itself after a certain number of miles without seeing a true error.

Is the car functioning like there is an error though?

Its driving normal it seems.
With the old sensor the error was popping in and out. But seeing its the abs and esp not functioning I not sure it working.
Know for sure the auto hold is not functioning anymore

I believe auto hold as well is linked to the ABS. When the tyre shop jacked my car up and told me to put it in drive so they could inspect the wheel rotation, every manner of error came on: ABS, ESP, tyre pressure. Once it came back down, had to drive about 1/4 mile before all the errors cleared and everything functioned like normal again.

jhonnieblue wrote:OK guys need some advice, got a replacement abs sensor from both amazon and ecs tuning. Now I installed it but the error lights on the dashboard are still remaining.
I even tried the old sensor that was working intermitantly but now joy
Does the error message have to be cleared with vcds?
If so anyone want to help me out with it?

I had similar problems and it turned out to be my left front passenger abs sensor malfunctioning.. I replaced it and ran an ABS test so the car re-learns steering angles etc.. Lights/faults went off.

How do you know which wheel sensor needs changing without a scan tho ?

Which sensor you got some amazon ? OE supplier, OEM ? I got some Beck Arnley and seems to work well.

I got a scan done initially and it was the left rear sensor, I got a OE sensor off amazon and ecs tuning but when I installed no change. Still same error display on dash

What do you mean doesn't work? It plugs in correctly yes?

Tried some VCDS wizardry?i.e. adaptation after clearing the fault?

Yip checked it with vcds and cleared the error.. It's not picking up a signal at all from the sensor.
From reading now that part no seems to be from the older B6 Passat and was later changed to the updated part no as more b7s were produced.
Gonna see if I could get a local part off a scrap and try it out

Go to engine....then the "adaptation" button....there would be a drop dwn box so select manifold pressure sensor....then click start....it would ask you to depress brake and accelerator at same time....then you are done....car feels peppy afterwards...recommend doing this with airbox filter out
