Only thing is I not sure where that info is taken from.
All we need now is to check a mk5 that hasn't had the mechatronic unit change to confirm sw/hw numbers

Look what you asking me. Translate so I'll understand, lol!

if u have a VCDS (Ross-Tech) cable/software

Honestly, I'm so frustrated with my car, just had too many issues. All I want is a reliable vehicle, and so far this has been the most unreliable one I have ever owned. I really tried hard to love my car, just can't anymore. As sad as it makes me, I'm actually contemplating putting it up for sale, sniff!

hopefully you get a good part this time
i'm on number 4, dont have any other info on the older units
but this is the current unit HW/SW numbers, etc
haven't had any problems so far,(except a recuring 006012 fault code)

Address 02: Auto Trans Labels: 0AM-300-04x.lbl
Part No SW: 0AM 300 048 N HW: 0AM 927 769 D
Component: GSG DSG AG7 431 2681
Revision: 00043014 Serial number: CU501211135667
Coding: 0000020
Shop #: WSC 07737 898 02089
VCID: 3B75EB8F7A4194C69BB

maybe u can compare the part numbers to see whether its a newer unit.
and maybe an Mk6 owner who hasn't had any problem can provide similar info just for comparison
since both Mk5 & 6 use 118kw engines (CAVD & CTHD)

Finally, checked the invoice and this is the part number on my new mechatronic - 0AM-325-025H-Z64. Do you think I might have gotten the new, updated one this time?

11/12 might be the production date
since mine end with 025 D and your with 025 H
i could be running any of the units on the lower section CAVD (notice the dates are 06/08 to 05/11)
based on the part # ending with Z64 u may have a 11/12 (Nov 2012???) model.
i just guessing here

Sorry. I don't know much bout this either. I can't even check the part number for my MU with VCDS so can't match it up with what you see in the parts catalogue. If anyone knows where the part number is on the MU maybe I could check mine and post something relevant.

Not seeing the part# for the MU either, but you can cross-reference the SW on the mech with respective HW based on the below

So, my MU SW would be PMH Revision 02 which makes my HW Z64 with CTHD engine

AllergictoBunnyEars, based on this I am thinking my MU has the mineral oil, yes?Assuming the first numbers syncrod posted are indeed the dates?

Image

This pic shows the manu or assembly date of the mech

24th January 2013 would be my DOM of the MU

Mechatronic units are not very expensive ( surprisingly compared to new valve bodies for ZF transmissions) you can get a new one from england from deutscheparts for a reasonable price.

Who locally will fix a dq200 mechatronic unit? Who will code a new unit for you locally and at what cost?

It can be repaired, but not in Trinidad. USA or UK. I know some people who do it in UK and I have been led to understand there is a place in Canada that do it as well. As to Cost? $5000- $6000 less shipping taxes. I found them through a company i bought parts from in UK some moons ago. Ill get more info and return to you folks

I got this advisory. Anyone experiencing these problems?

Flashing PRNDS in the Dash and the gearbox will switch to neutral.

Hard engaging of the 1st gear (slams into the first gear) from a stand still point. This can sometimes also be caused by a decallibration of the clutches so you might be able to "save the day" by performing a recalibration with a VCDS cable. Procedure can be found on Ross Tech website.

Hard downshifting from 3 to 2 and 2 to 1st gear followed by some loud "clunk" noises.

Shaking / juddering feeling while in 2nd , 3rd gear and the car pulls up.

Jerking between gears

Loss of power between 1300-2000 RPM. Car feels like it has no power.

Some of the affected units are :

02E927770E
02E927770AE
02E927770AJ
02E927770L
02E927770G

02E325025ADZ09
02E325025ADZ0A
02E325025ADZ0B
02E325025ADZ0C
02E325025ADZ0D

There are many other symptoms but here I described just a few of them. BEFORE you send me any DSG problems related questions I would suggest you to try the following :

Change your DSG Oil and Oil Filter. When changing look for metal residues in the oil or the oil filter. MAKE sure you fill up the gearbox oil to the specified levels.

Perform Basic Settings as described on Ross Tech website.

Make sure you don't have any oil leaks from the gearbox and the oil is at the correct level.

Check your ABS Sensors. Check if all 4 sensors read same speed while driving. (have another person driving with you and monitoring while driving, make a log file). ABS Sensor can be a pain when talking DSG Gearbox shifting.

Change your fuel filter. Especially on diesel cars check the fuel filter and see if you don't have any oil in the filter. The high pressure vacuum pump tends to fail and mix oil into the diesel.

Check your DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel). Take the Starter motor down (it's 2 screws) and check if you have any play.

This bulletin is for the not easily found locally 6 speed wet clutch DSG.

02E is the 6 speed DQ250 DSG which is sold locally only in the 2.0T, 2.0TDI equipped cars and I think the Yeti.

Most of the "recent" local 1.4 litre VW vehicles, like the original poster's car, come with the 7 speed DSG which doesn't have a filter and doesn't require an oil change.

Indeed it does.

I'm testing the theory on mine though. Hopefully will let y'all know how it turned out years from now.

I really tried hard to love my car, just can't anymore. As sad as it makes me, I'm actually contemplating putting it up for sale, sniff!
I have had a customer with the same issues 2 new mechatronic units in 3 years from the dealers. They were successfully coded but did not last. The third time around i advised him to change the whole engine and transmission out and convert it to a different one that was 2 and a half years ago customer still happy.... call for info if interested?? 326-9561 Jason....for photos or videos of the swap i can wats app them to you.
