Just adjusted the layer the dust/dirt/debris by chemical and mechanical means and removed any remaining liquid by harnessing the power of the micro fighters

Did you ever try Pentosin and if you did why did you not "like"?

I have pentosin home to try as well. I don't like or hate engine oils really unless they expensive. Once the VW 502 approved i will use them.

Right, my Passat used Castrol for 4 years, changed to Pentosin as it became available in Trinidad. I have adopted a 6 month or 10K oil change regime as I sometimes, actually most times don't cross the 10K km and found the Pentosin holding out good, no oil level drops in 6 mths and used it on the Yeti first oil change too. Although Sterling uses Gulf, I now know it is tried and tested here locally.

You all doing to start an oil war? Jeez and ages.

Oil is oil.

once it approved and you changing it on time it good. all of dem is d same price more or less anyway. Pentosin, Valvoline Syn Power, Total 9000, roughly about $300. for the big bottle. The only one I find very expensive and a waste of time is Castrol EDGE with FST. $400 for 4 litres. madness.

Let we done this oil talk na. please, coz this will go on forever.

Lol I was now coming to post an oil related reply. I basically think it doesn't matter what oil you use once you use a spec approved by VW.

Ecotune I can't comment on what you asked because my oil filter change went wrong this carnival weekend so now I am running a mix of total quartz 9000 and Pentosin. Will post details in Jetta thread cuz the mistake I made was real schoolboy error ting but can be made by first time oil changers like myself.

I dont have any ignition rattle. smooth as silk.

The only thing i can think of that will cause an ignition rattle at low rpm is a poorly adjusted engine timing. Get a scan, check the timing belt itself ( for wear/ stretch), and the tensioners. Other than that, there is no need for a B6 to have an ignition rattle at all.

Additionally, have you installed correct spark plugs? NGK BKR6E spark plugs are correct copper plugs. They may be your issue

Oil change due again. I find i changing oil regular.

Valvoline SYN Power MST 5W40.

you can use purolator oil filters. they only cost $25. better than $50 and $100 for Bosch and Mahle.

Broke the dipstick funnel, have to replace went to check the oil and I saw a small crack on the funnel and as the dipstick went back in it crumbled, ordered the replacement also a vag com somehow cleared the transmission error :? :? :? serviced the car and in clearing the service code it just came off and has been working since, I heard things about worn spark plugs causing an issue and I'm hoping that was my case, for now I'm monitoring, still going to have it changed sometime to avoid problems down the line as I'm hoping to pass it down. But I keeping cash in pocket for now
