I haven't heard of anyone getting their cars recalled by BA for the new oil yet. Apparently they are waiting on VW to give the all clear. Would be interesting to know if they did fill yours with the right oil but have others waiting still.

Probably want to make sure those mechatronics fail first, just to be safe.

I'm surprised owners of cars due for the oil change recall are taking this so cooly.

For me is probably more indifference than anything.. too much other things going on.

I want my judder fixed though so I'm hoping they change out the oil when they replace whatever they have to replace.

Customers asking BA about it getting the same response: they waiting on Germany.

So the only time it might be worth doing anything is if enough owners complain directly to VW.

Bunnyman you have links in Wolfsburg or wa?

No links at all but I have written them online via customer feedback links on their Germany page (which) is in English and on each occasion they have written back to me with positive info. It's how i initially found out my car was not part of the recall and it still doesn't show up on the recall websites so the info all lines up.

I honestly would have written them directly by now if my car was on the list.

Ok

Here's the most useful contact link I found

http://www.volkswagenag.com/content/vwc ... /form.html

For anyone interested, I submitted under the subject of "DQ200 DSG Recall Campaign 34F6 in Trinidad" basically asking when to expect it.
Maybe a few more of you all can submit to make up some numbers

Yup that's the link I used as well. I put in as much details as I could remember. Things like VIN, date of purchase, car model, location, dealer responses so far, descriptions of how speedily the recall was handled in other countries, climate, general traffic conditions, and whatever other info that you believe relevant.

read somewhere that the solenoids heat up too much and shift out of position which causes that,,,,which would mean the fluid needs to be cooler

Is that 09G mated to a 1.6 na or a 1.8T?

Recall campaign for some of the DQ200 DSG7's to swap out the oil.

I had emailed VW Germany about 3 weeks ago asking when they would start the campaign in Trinidad for affected vehicles. They sent a response to my email this morning to say that there's not much they can directly do about my problem, and that they forwarded my concerns to the local dealer.(Funny, considering that BA was waiting on Germany to give the go ahead).

So I'm wondering if it's any coincidence that this afternoon I got a call from BA saying that my car is part of the recall campaign and that they have the oil in stock whenever I'm available to do it.

So....anybody else?

I hear ya.

Then last weekend I drove a car with a normal transmission and remembered why DSG felt so much better.

Sometimes I wish I had gotten something with the 6 speed DSG instead.

This is an alternative it has 21gears , disk brakes front and back, fully adjustable seating position 26" rims , can go off road, 10 years warranty and as much horse power as you can produce. BEST OF ALL IT WILL NOT SHUTDOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR MACTRONIC PROBLEMS. COST $4000

First of a few visits there

Have to take it back for them to replace the clutch as a solution to that D2 judder. Waiting for them to ensure parts are in stock.

Also need to go back to get my windshield replaced.. stray stone on the highway tapped the glass while driving at moderate speed and cracked it :| .. this compared to the rocks and boulders that hit it before while doing 140km/h and nothing. :agrue:

For the Passat 1.8 TSI, 5k, 10k, 15k, 25k, 30k, 35k mile services usually ran about $1200-$1500.
For all those, oil and filter changed along with diagnostic scans etc.
Wheels are aligned at every 10k mile intervals.

20k is a bigger service and cost about $3200.

40k is supposed to be a major one due next month so I will report back.

Following the 40k I'll probably be doing oil & filter changes myself which should cost about half what BA charges.
