HELP ! Someone to do GOOD Supension Work on my rover

Postby irvys » June 17th, 2014, 2:41 pm

Good day tuners,
I need help finding a good mechanic .
I need the suspension in my Hatch back Rover checked and repaired /fixed accordingly.
it has a b14 conversion in it.
I have changed rubbers
still getting some noises under
if I let go the steering wheel it pulls to the right or left (depending on the road)
I have done 2 alignments already.

I am really desperate and going out of my mind !

Thank you in advance.
I am located in south but for a good work in my car no where is far in Trinidad.

Hello irvy, is the suspension or the drivetrain a b14?

Not sure what you are asking. But I know the axels are rover's. I am guessing they did the welding and stuff. Cause I recently change CV joints.

Well if the suspension and or drivetrain is from a b14 : )
If the suspension was modified then it would be difficult for that to work as original

Suspension parts are from rover. They would have done, axel mods. But everything else is rovers.

Ok well that has and supposed to work good. How long after you did the conversion, did the steering start to pull one sided

I believe right away. ( but it needed alignment from before , so I thought it was normal. )

Ok so even though it pulls, are the tyres cutting even?

And when you do that camber and align, does it line up good on the ramp?

If I remember correctly, the alignment guy said the chamber could not adjust , and no matter what it may still wear more on the inside. I am sure one thing leads to the other, but what I am really trying to achieved is a proper assessment of my suspension and a way forward. To have it as good as it can be at least.

Yeah that camber is important. Check to see if there's a camber kit for that car. Tackle one problem at a time

Go visit this guy..Arnold @ 376-3529, let him know you got the number from me. he is located in Chase Village.

he is pretty good with conversions and figuring out stuff and will be able to point you in the right direction at least.

he runs an alignment shop around there.

Last I checked there may have the camber bolts for the shock to hub for the rovers, not sure as I've never had to do it. But it sounds to me like some suspension parts may be bent. Is the camber the only thing that is out? Did you try going to Mileage Mack? Personally I like them and Aranguez Tyre Center
