can a entry cam take great macro shots like the shades smurf post up or do i need a special lens for that?

or just take a regular macro shot and add depth of feild to it?

Yeah man, point and shoot cameras have the macro setting on it, which could more than do that. I now notice the price drop as well. $325 US. To me, that was a great starter camera. The beauty in it was when you printed something. It was just amazing for a 4MP. And now, you can get a higher model for just a little bit more $. Here's some macro shots I took in 2005 with the panasonic lumix.

The Canon Rebel XTi. It seemed to be the 'most bang for your buck' SLR.

Different factors:
Camera focus
Camera/lens quality
Type of subject
Moving subjects could give you blurred images

Liking the first pic there Yeo. Composition looks very cool.

Thanks Sumana. 8-)

we'll start back the monthly photobugs session in the new year but my main concern is crime (duh), as we shoot mostly at night and can be held up easily ...

.....and venue. we may have to move from pt. lisas.....try somewhere new.

some local shots at Mayaro, Valencia River and Toco and then a few from Nassau Bahamas (downtown). (Mayaro, Valencia and Toco pics taken with a Sony Cybershot 7.2 pix) and Nassau with a Minolta Dimage i think). I tried uploading these yesterday but something went wrong.
