I supposed to have one somewhere, if you dont mind me asking, do you just want to use the device before an international unlock is pushed to use it with a local carrier? The reason i ask is because if the phone was unlocked you can activate it with any sim from any network as long as an unlock was pushed to the device by tmobile and you have an internet connection.

So I changed the rear camera on an iPhone 5 and now the home button refuses to work. Changed the flex cable with a spare one I had, still nothing. I didn't pry to remove the battery from the motherboard side, I heated it so the glue would release and it popped out easily from the other side, so I don't think any of the resistors on the board itself would have been damaged in the process.

At the end of reassembling the device I saw a very small gold ring attached to a little black piece of what maybe was wire the seemed to have broke off from I dunno where. Would this be why it doesn't work, or does anyone have any other ideas? Cause I can't recall ever seeing anything similar on an iPhone before so I don't think it was from the phone really. But hoping to hear some opinions.

Yea i jus letting you know the tmobile sim will grant you access to use the features of the iphone but not as a "phone" as you are locked to tmobile. Itll be an ipod basically. Unless you can get the person whose name it on to contact tmobile and tell them he leavin the country for a vacation and he requesting the sim be unlocked. Once the phone has been paid off they will push the unlock in 3 days or so.

Thanks a lot man. Did you change it yourself ? I can't solder on anything that small I know I'd mess it up.

That's the flex cable I changed

Quite frustrating I really wanna get the home button working again

I also just shorted the two contacts next to the headphone jack where the home button flex cable on the LCD touches and the home button did not activate. No idea what this could be :(

pete, is it out of contract? If it is, then call and request for it to be unlocked.
I dunno how up to date this post is anymore... but it should have all the info:

Apple didn't make this as a laptop replacement, they made it as a Pro version of the iPad.

Apple has the MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro for laptop users. The MacBook is as portable as an iPad.

iPads are used in almost every industry from medical to engineering more than any other tablet, but as tablets, not laptop replacements.

Understood... but as is, maybe its just me, i cant see the justice in spending the money for it *at the moment*, might wait until a couple of dedicated apps and pencil integration before purchasing
the Pencil will be a really specialised thing, probably only for drawing and design apps - it is not a stylus or pointing device.

and again this is a Pro iPad for ipad users who require a bigger screen and faster processing power.

There are apps built specifically for iPad that are used by hundreds of industries and professionals all over the world
http://www.apple.com/business/mobile-enterprise-apps/

While you can use MS Word and Excel on this, you can also use it on a regular iPad.
You need to decide if the device is worth it for you.

since my el capitan upgrade I've been getting random wifi drops.
The signal remains strong, but I get dns type errors, name resolutios etc.
Sometimes I just wait a couple secs and it automagically fixes.
Others, I do a wifi disconnect and reconnect and it sorts itself out.
It's mildly annoying - any tips?
