I have a late 2015 Macbook Pro I bought directly from apple that I use 95% time at home (aka plugged in which is my fault as I didn't condition the battery)

Recently I've noticed that the macbook no longer closes flush. Which I have determined is as a result of a swollen battery.

Does iWorld replace batteries with original ones? Anyone has any experience with this?

Would the aluminum case be permanently deformed?

I'm really pissed about this. Because I spent $3kUSD for it and its now on year 2.

*EDIT* - Just found out that iWorld does the replacement but at a cool $4k - $5TTD

5k to replace a battery???
that costing more than a car battery . lmao ..

Just curious - anyone interested in a mid-2014 Macbook Pro retina 13"?

i7 3.0
8G RAM
512G SSD
1.5G Iris Video

How much do you think can I get for it?

I'm in the middle of my research, and I think now is a good time to get a new MBP to see me to the finish line.

If you serious, how soon do you want it? I don't want to be with a machine and I still have to order the replacement.
Disclosure: it's sticker bombed with a bunch of Linux stuff.

Tried reinstalling it?
I'm using it on an iPhone X on iOS12 and not experiencing any crashes. When does it crash? Any specific activity

Wonder if a US apple account will be sufficient???

So far, only the US Food and Drug Administration has given clearance to Apple to go ahead with the feature in new smartwatches; process of gaining approval from agencies of other countries underway
Last Published: Sat, Sep 22 2018. 07 04 PM IST

London: Shoppers queuing up to buy Apple Inc.’s latest smartwatch anywhere but the US face an uncertain wait before they can use the product’s headline-grabbing electrocardiogram feature.

Only American customers are being told the functionality will be enabled for them later this year. Apple isn’t even promoting the feature on its international websites, and instead focuses solely on the existing heart rate analysis tool that was present in earlier models.

So far, only the US Food and Drug Administration has given clearance, sending the iPhone-maker confirmation on 11 September — just one day before Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook took to the stage at the company’s headquarters to announce the product.

Should be sufficient yes. Can't the see the feature being geolocation dependent and a US resident losing the feature when they travel. So yeah it should work if you have a US Apple ID account.

So I've been having this issue for a while now. Resorted to using the OTA method but I really want to know how to fix this problem.

Firewall settings have been checked
Browsing works fine
All Stock apps except for VLC installed

System is Late 2012 MacMini running macOS Mojave 10.14

"make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active"

have you tried it on another network?
Take it by someone with working internet and try it there.

Have not tried that.

But I forgot to mention that the update or reinstall of software works fine if I disconnect the ethernet cable and use WiFi

Ok, I got through.

Ended up resetting/restoring the hosts file as suggested from an online article.

The issue appears to be resolved

https://www.macrumors.com/2018/10/04/t2-macs-must-pass-diagnostics-for-certain-repairs/

For the 2018 MacBook Pro, the requirement applies to repairs involving the display, logic board, Touch ID, and top case, which includes the keyboard, battery, trackpad, and speakers, according to the document. For the iMac Pro, the requirement only applies to logic board and flash storage repairs.

If any of these parts are repaired in an iMac Pro or 2018 MacBook Pro, and the Apple diagnostics are not run, this will result in an inoperative system and an incomplete repair, according to Apple's directive to service providers.

Apple's diagnostic suite is limited to internal use by Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers, as part of what is called the Apple Service Toolkit. As a result, independent repair shops without Apple certification may be unable to repair certain parts on the iMac Pro and 2018 MacBook Pro.

Moreover, when the iMac Pro and 2018 MacBook Pro are eventually classified as vintage products, meaning they are no longer eligible for hardware service from Apple, repairs through alternative channels might not be possible.

About $800

iPad with wifi only (no SIM card slot) is 0% Duty and 12.5% VAT
iPad with wifi and SIM card slot is 20% Duty and 12.5% VAT

shipping weight of a 6th Gen 2018 iPad is 1.81 lbs.

the 12.9" iPad Pro would cost more due to increased size and weight
