Well the 3G part never concerned me anyway. I have a wi-fi network set up, so if I get a 3G or a original it wouldn't matter

Can someone verify this?

I've checked and the only clear indication I've gotten is that there are currently none available online.

Was anyone able to look into this?

UPDATE: Buyers in Hong Kong are also saying that any sim card can be used once you have activated the iPhone with the 3 Sim card. BUT you are still signed to a 24 month contract, even though you can use the phones anywhere in the world, so this only really benefits the original owner/buyer who’s name is on the contract unless you manage to buy one off an Italian or Hong Kong dude that forgets to transfer the contract payments to you ;).

After unlocking and jailbreaking iPhone OS 2.0, the iPhone Dev Team has now liberated the new iPhone 3G, only five days after launch. This means a Pwnage tool that will allow you to install the unofficial applications that Apple doesn't want you to have in your iPhone—like video recording apps or game emulators—alongside with the App Store ones. The upcoming Pwnage will support the classic iPhone, the iPod touch, and the iPhone 3G. The video shows it works great: (re: mitch)

1. Yes

2. I don't know why you should need any instructions. Just open iTunes, dock iPhone, check for updates - and follow the onscreen instructions. Leave it docked during the process, and read what's on the screen.

I did it that way and had no problems updating to 2.0. I had nothing to do except sitting and watching.

If you are worrying about bricking your iPhone, this may be a result of people undocking the phone as it is still going through the "restart" phases. My phone actually restarted 3 times (two of which showed the "slide for emergency" and the third and final time showed "Phone is activated" and can be "undocked".

as I know it, that is the case. Personally I would wait until the Dev Team or who ever releases the 2.0 Unlocking software & a proper walk through along with it
