lol, this ain't florida you know.
But yes, the record boca grande great hammerhead was estimated to be 40-50 years old. Generally, those are old female fish that produce the most young. As fish grow older so does their reproductive capacity which is why the states haven't eased up on their red snapper restrictions yet since sampling doesn't yield as many mature fish that are capable of producing 60 + million eggs per individual per year. (10 year old) Only of which 450 individuals are estimated to become juveniles susceptible to trawling.
A hammerhead that size may be capable of producing 40- 50 pups at a time.

Thanks but they do not have 10ft baitcasting rods.........question for beach fishing can i use a baitcaster reel if so what is a good combo. I already have 2 spinning reel but i read baitcasting reel gives more distance.

Have you ever done any baitcasting? It isn't really popular locally, I've done a little with an okuma cedros and a shimano speedmaster but spinning is alot easier and there's nothing really from sure that you can't catch with a modern spinner with braid( as far as line capacity is concerned.) Most tackle shops won't stock em in those surf models because of how small the market is, the few folks that do usually order their own stuff, mankees can also assist you in acquiring a rod even if they don't stock them if you ask them. As far as reels, abu garcias are standard but locally you can get a penn fathom star drag, ryan99tt has one in misc classifieds for sale. But let me warn you, if you decide to try it out, load your reel with mono when you start to cast or you won't bother after the first backlash with braid lol.

Not surprised, the south equatorial current runs on that side. I wonder how far out they're catching.

The north and east coast normally what the bulletin for...
The gulf does be calm normally...

I went out two times ago when it had bulletin and I stayed out in d gulf and far from the north or close to any of the bocas where the strong breeze comes thru...

Gulf was flat calm whole day and whole night...
You should ask the captain how the gulf is right now.... usually good to fish in....

I would hv gone out this weekend and just fish nearby but I just don't like all the carnival traffic...

Took a drive down to Manzan and Mayaro today, didn't go to fish or bathe, just to relax.. The wind is ridiculous. Water is very churned up, and the whole of the Manzan stretch smells fresh like a fish market.

Real horrendous conditions.
