question about Noah's ark.............

Postby MG Man » November 8th, 2009, 11:16 pm

watchin a doc on NatGeo abt the search for the man boat....conventional wisdom puts the size at either 450 feet or 515 feet long, depending on whose cubit measurement you use..............either way, how the heck did unkle Noah fit two of every living critter in a boat that size??????????????????

A more accurate translation says Noah had the "life essence" of every living thing on board. Figure it out...

Wasn't the "Noah's Ark story" a Babylonian myth that the Israelite elders retold as a "one of the boys" story to reinforce their own culture in the face of the Babylonian acculturation that was taking place at the time?

Realising or considering (to use a tamer word) that some of the early stories in the Book of Genisis are quite possibly not meant to be taken literally, but were meant to teach us aspects of God and His plan for us does not lessen one's belief in God, or in His ability to assist us or interact with us.

I have overheard my children telling their friends stories about me (no comments please MG) that are not at all true - but that doesn't mean I don't exist.

By the way, Banzai, is it true that some Rastas believe that their locks are a prerequisite
for salvation as it is by these that Jah will pull them up into heaven?

I've heard tell of an HSR with one of those... Don't understand it myself, actually, as I was told that the reason why an HSR is so named is because it is powered by an SR...

think it's Mesopotamian in origin.....current thought is that it dates back to about 10k years ago when the Mediterranean Sea spilled over and filled in what is now the Black sea, effectively wiping out primitive settlements, and this account was passed down

I still waiting on the creationists to enlighten on the mechanics of the undertaking...............

Oh, and not sure about the dreadlock thing, but I pretty sure there is only one metrorastafarian, and he roams these hallowed forums
