OPPO's have always been great quality players!

but I'm trying to figure out if the analog 7 channel output has the same quality or capability as a 7.1 receiver.

i have the bdp93 (3d) for like 5 yrs now

built like a tank

fastest bluray load times

reads direct blurays iso & folders from a hard drive...so its like loading a bluray with menus without the physical disc

android & ios app

and MOST IMPORTANTLY NO CINAVIA PROTECTION ON ANYTHING

any model higher than that does have the cinavia protection

4k does hv a long way to go.....a used bdp93 is good investment

these bluray players hv upscalers chip comparable to high end avr recievers as well,,MARVEL QDEO

the newer oppo models have darbee vision as well

these Amazon Basics work well
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-2-M ... B01D5H8PQ0

Monoprice RCA cables are good too. You can spend money on AudioQuest or Monster but I really don't know if it's worth it.

I use oxygen free speaker wire for the connection from the receiver to my speakers and one Monster mono RCA cable for the subwoofer.

Bose SA-3 amplifier help

Hey guys I came across this little amp here in storage, did some reading up but is is there anyway I can get it to work without the full Bose Lifestyle set up?

Like just run it somehow to be powered from an aux system.

Tried but it doesn't work, adjusted the dip switches to allow recognition from aux input and nothing even with a +0.5v rca line in.

Seems I need an external vca controller to work it somehow...

Didn't it have the Bose guy in here, hit me up bro with some advice

Use the RCA Audio inputs for audio input into the amplifier.

Use the amplifier outputs to connect to your speaker system.

I am not sure if two output ports are enough for the acoustimass.

I've hooked my SA-3 to the 161 series. As for control, get yourself a potentiometer to control volume with through the VCA.

You'll find potentiometers in your local electronic store. Go for one that has a linear resistance range of about 10-20k ohms.

If this solution is a little crude for you, then google for wall VCA controls and buy one. All VCA controls should work with the Bose VCA adapter. Hope that helps.

Yamaha RXV 675.
4 monoprice will use them as presence speakers later on.
1 SVS PB 2000, way bigger than i though the SVS SB1000 would have been better.

the cool thing about this is that you can upgrade as time goes on and budget permits. Look for a decent center channel speaker, the MB Quart that Gladiator is selling is pretty good. The center channel speaker is the MOST important one for movies since that is where all your dialog comes from. Next is the TV and you will be good for a long time until you decide to upgrade the front and surround speakers.
