we were lucky tonight. lever missing a few really good players and they still could have scored about 3 more. defence looking shaky at times but still a better performance than saturday. anybody know why pep resting xavi so much??? and why adriano when you have pedro, cuenca, tello, tiago (push cesc up)???

Pedro still have to get full match fit, but I feel he could really try on of the young guys in the second leg and see what they could do.Defence look iffy today, as was the case in the recent matches. We NEED defenders

we were a bit lucky yeah, but dont u think they were luckier!...their keeper saved atleast 2-3 dead on shots....messi hit the post...and had some good runs at their defence in the end im glad messi scored..he was struggling a bit since he missed the penalty

I think pep saving xavi for the final surge at the end as he cant afford loose him with inesta not 100% yet...injuries around this time usually costs teams trophies

^ doesn't matter to me how lucky they are.
barca will be progressing (barring a serious collapse) and they need to break all to come.
i don't think ac, bayern, rm etc. will take it so easy.
in recent times, in big games, barca never let the biggest of teams sniff their goal.
even pep agrees. see his comments on goal.com

Nice beaver-trick by Messi but oh gosh dem fellas throw away some ridiculously easy chances. They had about 25 shots on goal with about 10-12 GREAT chances. Alexis and Cesc the main culprits. Diego Alves had a brilliant game though even though 5 went pass him.

Good awareness by Messi to take the freekick early, he misses the next match though. As I stated earlier, the chances of winning the league is small. Even Guardiola has indicated this!

Really disappointed with our away performance as that is why we are in this predicament! We shall continue to win in the league hoping for a slip up by RM, but until then, it's all about strategy in football and I'm glad to hear that the main focus is the UCL and Copa del Rey!

Yes 5 yellows and you miss the next match. Both Messi and Busquets will miss the next match. Alves usually goes through this every season.

Breakdown of Messi 5 yellows
3- Handle Ball
1- Diving
1- Protesting a call in d Clasico

I remember Xavi last season racked up 5 yellows as well. All was for protesting to the ref. A really silly reason to keep racking up yellows though.

when the players close to their allotment, they usually pick up for silly reasons in a timed attempt to not miss big matches
