Look under the battery and post the model number. Willing to bet you have a carrier device which is causing problems. Happened to be me way back with an s3.

Yup. I was right. That is why it's not working. The carrier Rom is restricting it. If you can flash a custom Rom based on stock it will start working. Don't ask me why I have no idea lol

But it's supposed to be unlocked :/
Also, won't a ROM flash screw the warranty?

See if you can get into the service menu and change data settings somehow. That's what I did with an AT&T s3 few years back. Or you can flash a custom Rom based on the stock international model. All this is assuming the phone has the right bands to operate on trini data.

It's making and receiving calls and everything else works, just the data refuses to connect, apparently it happened after the 6.0 update. COntemplating asking amazon to refund me... :/

What network submode do I click? GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ OR LEGACY 3GPP multi?

HSPA/HSPA+ is what you want. You should have bought the international model. Carrier models can be problematic with data sometimes.

It's advertised as unlocked so I figured it wouldn't have any issues. This is what I get for picking one with a warranty :/

So how do I return this thing to amazon? I'm thinking to return it and order the h815 international version. Anyone here have one and can confirm that it works?

The new Chromecast is just supposed to be faster than the last one. Personally I bought an MXQ pro Android box for 35 and a mini keyboard for 16 and it has to be the best value for money I've ever gotten. Came with Kodi and I just added a few other apps and its great. Plays video off an NTFS USB hard drive and all.

Ok thanks. Have both Apple TV and chromecast ,already bought by someone, in front of me to choose from so I'm torn as to which one.

In that case I'd say Apple TV.

How much did it cost in total? From website to your hand?
