What the Best Split level AC Units...Carrier LG, Panasonic?

Postby stealth » November 4th, 2018, 10:26 pm

I’m still in the market for a unit, I visited a booth in the nagar from Clemmans and associates , who carries also Ciac which they said is from carrier. Which offers a 7year warranty on compressor and 10% off until next month for $4200 (non inverter) and 6350(inverter) both 24000 btu. What you guys think.? They say all parts in stock

I find there have been a high incidence of failed condenser motors in those.
But in all fairness they were exposed to very harsh conditions.
Prices dont sound bad to be quite honest.
They dont give me good prices on their goods so I dont deal those brands.
Id quicker buy the toshiba from them though. Really like those.

inbox me a link to your page, leem see some work.

You have someone you work with? some people work better with others and dont work good with some people. Have two guys that do work in record time but I fill in when one not available, feels like I get in their way as we dont click. On the other hand a tuner by the name of boods I work well with.

Looking to lock down touchstone next.

Also thinking about getting into pressure washing and lawn cutting.

I have to find out what's pricesmart price before I give a price.
From what the piss poor customer service reps tell me is that customers in charge of getting their own installer. Then pricesmart may consider the warranty based on who.
So from what I gather, anyone can buy and install. Donno if they interested in getting a dedicated install perosn / company.
Have my fingers crossed.
If you want another brand meanwhile, I can supply and install.
Lennox / daikin $2600.00

And yes, I am organizing powerseller status. Locked out my online banking due to an error on the bank part. Hoping its sorted out tomorrow.

So far I do work for:

Oeg offshore
Dumore
Samlalsingh (marabella)
Dickies bar (fyzabad, the recent Lennox install)
Palo seco secondary
Priscillas pretty little things (debe, lennox install)

Did work for vessigny secondary but been busy so havent been able to accomodate them as of late

Have a meeting with touchstone oil and gas

May take a jab at petrotrin and get my foot in with SWRHA.

Yes I am a certified tech, yes I am certified to work with the new hydrocarbon refrigerants but no, I did not sit the exam to obtain the permit. Been juggling 3 jobs

I have an oldish lennox 18k unit which making some real nuisance noise
every 10-15mins it makes some loud binding creaks as though somebody trying to open a window
cant sleep with this unit

i suspect the vanes which sweep left/right are binding
is there anyway to disable the motor/sweep mechanism ?

Usually on the remote or you can disconnect the motor.

Usually creaking is evap motor bearing shot or side bushing need a lil grease. But from what you describe it may be the vanes self.

Depends in the size and location esp wrt the evening sun.
Usually a site visit is best done.
But units come as small as 9000btu

Never really sold any 9000btu but 12's are around $2600.00 ground floor basic back to back.
Lennox, Daikin and Rheem.

The 12000btu looks decent.
The 24000btu I iffy about. Looks a bit small.
Someone asked for one of those yonan units recently and I was blown away by what came out the box.
Bracket well built, sturdy and allows for adjustments.
Copper kit on par with others.
Condenser and evaporator massive (full sized 2 tonne unit, not no jokey stuff).
Appears to have same control board as katashi.
Compressor rumoured to be a TGM, rather silent.

Thanks spann.
Getting myself organised right now.
Have a backlog of work to finish up before I jump out and look for more.

Tuners can have a look at my page meanwhile to see what I have to offer.

Will throw up a thread sometime in the near future with some of my work for those who not on fb.

Shouldn't need refrigerant unless it has a leak.
Drop in performance can indicate need for service.
But odd enough I met 3 systems that lost refrigerant and had no leaks.

If you don't have a manifold gauge set amd have a clamp meter (dmm with a clamp that can mesaure current draw) shoot me a message and I will walk you through the process of knowing if it has a proper charge.

Heard a rumour that there are fake lennox on the market.

Buddy of mine came across one so seems its true.

They dont have gree compressors. He not willing to let me post pics for saftey reasons.

So peeps, careful who you buy from.

I have no stock hence no for sale thread yet. Will restock soon.
