Only place I got consistent, decent service is Tunapuna. Otherwise POS, South, Piarco, Princes Town, real crappy service. Praying my company re-considers leaving the Red Team................

my experience has been pretty good, i have 3 devices with 4g service (2 bmobile, 1 digi).....and both services seem to be about equal.

Actually I honestly fine data rates are lower on digi especially at night where i see my speeds sink to below 200kbps.

In POS i find Bmobile rocks, it's only pt lisas and uwi I experienced some real issues....actually chaguanas one day too, but they seemed to have fixed it.

Btw does anyone know if Digicel or Bmobile actually monitor their networks? Do they have software or engineers who know where the problem areas are and do they even try to fix it?

one time i called to find out if they had temporary problems in pt lisas, but they said they never got any reports on problems, and without any reports they cant send technicians to investigate. so i recommend anytime anyone in pt lisas get problems, make a report, hopefully it will be fixed eventually

The more people complain the better the chance of it getting fixed is the reply i got from a tech, prob about 10 people at least have to say something for them to even really check on it.

Been taking a closer look at it. When it's on H+ (SGS3 btw) it works fine, but if it drops to H, 3G, etc. it doesn't work at allll. EDGE works fine though (albeit at EDGE speeds).

Attached I have some info from a handy app 2g,3g,4g Network Monitor (app link below)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=msd.n2g.n3g&hl=en

The images seem to suggest the same.

To clarify how the app displays data - HSPAP is H+ (4g) and HSPDA is H (3g)

I did send them a tweet about it, but my guess is that's likely to be ignored. Besides calling and speaking to their *ahem* Customer Service Representatives... Is there a proper channel where we can lodge these complaints? I'd really like to get something done about this.

Got a call from TSTT on Wednesday advising me they offering 4g free for 1 month effective Wednesday once I switch off and restart the phone ( I have a phone with no data plan). Anyone take their free 4g trial and never carry on with it?

@ 80c/MB I was hoping for a decent connection. Seems slower than my old 9600k modem! :( Most of my wifi connections are fine (over 3Mbps on the phone in most cases).
bmobile prepaid data settings
Anyone else using prepaid Internet on their phone?

the best option is the one that is available

what options are you choosing from?

If you need to be portable then 4G is the only option.
If it's for a laptop for use in a single location, pair Greendot with a wireless router.

possibly the only relevant answer here based on what was asked.

Coverage varies by location. best bet would be to call the service provider (digicel or bmobile/blink) and see what is the coverage for the area.

Quality of 4g coverage might vary between bmobile and digi at that location. One might just have edge and the other full 4g. Best way to check would be prepaid 4g data on a phone to see which works better there and then decide what you want to go with.

^ ditto

coverage maps won't always guarantee signal.

the only way you can truly find out is to take a bmobile 4G device, WIMAX device, Digicel 4G device, Greendot device etc and see which one gives you the best bandwidth in the required location.

Carry it to one of their main offices with your contract form, the techs would change it for you.

Is tstt phasing out wimax?
I got a call from tstt saying I could get blink. I signed up and waited for abt 2 wks. I was in a tstt office so asked abt my application. I was told that a technician came and checked and reported that I cannot get blink. So I asked abt wimax, he said they not offering that anymore.
After I called blink and the CSR said on computer she's seeing my area didn't have blink but now it does so she would put in the application again. A few days later a tech came and left a modem and said something need to be fixed and then it would work but it never did. After the weekend a tech called and said we can't have blink so he came and took the modem.
He said we could get wimax, so name was put on a list and we should hear from them in abt a week. Next week would be a week so waiting to see what happens.

The guy at TSTT St. James Street, San Fernando told me that it is not offered anymore and when I asked what are my other options he said none with them and that I can go with another service provider :agrue:
