The first officer seemed to be in shock the man hitting him....the cuff was totally unexpected.

Great restraint by the officers actually...at their expense.

The spanner though...lol

How come they (Police) are not issued and trained with tasers in Trinidad?

Why the people in power always like this country to be so backward and crude? I know everyone like to say how TT Police so stupid and inept, but most of the time it's because they aren't equipped properly or trained properly to do their ungrateful and difficult jobs.

Top Cop he gonna be so embarrassed by these amateur officers. First guy thought he was superman an taking shots instead of tackling the crazy man to ground. Then when they do tackle the guy they do it on a man car and damage it..

Lancer man will get a lancer one model year newer

on page one.....

things to note

1 could the police have used deadly force to subdue the suspect but not kill - ie wound?

2. what else could the police have done differently in that situation - given the current tools / methods to subdue a suspect ?

3 could the officer have responded in kind - ie remove gun from waist ...take off shirt and charge enn like rambo ??

4. who is goin to fix the lancer man car?

5. reserved for future comment / suggestion

I think the officer behind the guy should have run in immediately as he swung the belt.

he was in the best position to subdue...given his position, size etc.

Watch all vids involving local arrests and compare with foreign vids and you see that our officers aren't trained to subdue difficult persons in real life.
It is almost always like a comedy skit....shameful that our CoP and minister seeing these things over the years and not addressing it with the new recruits at least.

that same man- if he was on a trip in NYC and police even looked at him would have asked the officer "how high tuh jump" but you know - lack of respect here, and yes if the policeman had used a form of force from the earlies you would probably have heard the usual BS from the ignorant masses- "why he had to beat him, why he had to shoot him, yuh see how police violent for no reason" .

In all fairness foreign officers also have pepper spray, tazers and aren't harshly judged for using force once required.
