Not proven outside the PL though. Also google Kaku's record against the 'big teams in PL'... i'll wait. tbh if I were a Man U fan i'd rather have Rashford as the 9. Lukaku scored 4 goals against the top 5 teams in EPL for 2016-2017. More than anyone else in EPL for 2016-2017.
I wouldn't worry about CL and scoring.
