Allied had the Bosch slim grinder for around 350. From current experience, that grinder can survive anything and then ask for more.

They probably have drills too.

Bought a cheapish Freud diablo 7 1/4 circular blade the other day in curepe

Man this thing cutting ply like butter
Even better than the expensive Freud blade I have on my table saw.
The saw doesn't even change sound when cutting, going through 3/4" with same ease as 1/2"

Hi does anybody know where I can get a mini air compressor? Like for cleaning out computer parts and maybe inflating tyres or general 'round the house applications? Want to get something for my brother for his birthday and I know he'll really appreciate this item, I'm just not sure where to begin my search. Not interested in online purchase though.

Got one of these about 15 years ago, still works. You can even paint cars with it.

I got this at a small local hardware, have not seen it since. Pricesmart normally has small home compressors.

Who has the best prices on low/midlevel metal chop saws these days?

Looking for something locally that is comparable to the $100US Porter Cable PCE700.

D.C. Welders tend to have less spatter and smoother arc
They can also run certain speciality rods e.g. Stainless
The machine will cost a little more than the ac only version.

Never saw knipex locally, I have one I bought in a sears store.
It is truly a fantastic tool, mine is a longish one, want to buy a shorter one.
I think it is the only adjustable wrench allowed for use in aircraft.

Which Knipex do you use? Bought one of their Raptor pliers but it turned out to be useless for my application (turning tie rods for alignments)

The regular adjustable one that they are known for, it is a crescent on steroids.
It's called pliers wrench

I know its prob a couple weeks late, but I haven't been in the thread for a while.

Allied in south had a Campbell Hausfeld portable air compressor similar to this. Think it was about $400 or $500

You may want to consider swapping out your Maglight AAA (single or double) for a Lumintop Tool AAA.

The Tool is brighter, has three levels, rear push button, and will accept NiMH batteries.

I tried a coast light and upgraded to the Maglite. Pretty satisfied actually. Would look at that for my next purchase. Looking at some streamlites. Saw they are USB charged
