Yep...I am guessing CPU or hard drive (if you don't have an SSD) without checking the site

well my cpu isn't listed on the site though, what if i upgrade to a i5 750 or 760, i can bring one in for about 280 dollars.
it has an 8mb cache and 4 physical cores.

I recommend don't spend good money behind an out dated platform... Save towards your next build

is there any benching software or otherwise that can detect the degree of bottlenecking that will take place.

It is not as easy as running a straight game or benchmark that will answer your question in a yes or no format. Some games are more CPU bound than others. Lower resolutions are more CPU bound than higher ones. A bottleneck will occur depending on what games you are running and at what resolution.

As was said earlier you should really consider changing that platform before making any more gpu purchases. If you're not being held back by cpu already, it won't be long again until you are. An easy way to tell is by looking at your CPU usage in game. If it hits over 90% then yes, your GPU if being starved.

And if you're upgrading CPU, change platforms. Don't stay on the one you're on.

i run msi afterburner on swtor, LOL, WOW, and dota, cpu max never went higher than 50%, so at least on these titles cpu wont bottleneck gpu.

This was my first GPU back in the day sold it to a tuner in 2010.

What you guys thinks about the older games like dead space 1, 2 and 3? I like good graphical games mostly......it's my thing! I love older games to, but only the ones with exceptional graphics.

@gabrielbad

How old a game are we talking... Cause I could say have a look at Witcher 3, far cry 4, crysis 3 if you like pretty graphics.
