also i got the message on the normal partition hard drive

i didn't want to delete since he wanted to keep the files on his system cause they were important so was trying to install windows leaving the files so he could access it

check your SATA cable... replace with a new one and go again - cant tell you how many times i had HDD issues and it was a dumb loose slack / worn cable....

also go into the BIOS and ensure the SATA mode is set to AHCI.

also if you dont want to loose the files i recommend you remove the drive slave to to another pc - or use an external and copy off the important data on it....

reinsert and then try to reinstall windows.

if you suspect a bad hard drive try doing a full format (via cmd).... see if that helps....

Not seeing this particular model on the sites I'm accustomed using. This one from AnandTech is nothing comprehensive but may still be helpful.

Was looking at the ASUS TUF H370-Pro Gaming (Wi-Fi) for a budget build myself.

This is a good video to checkout for z390 boards. I am assuming you buying a 9900k and overclocking.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5NDtS8za8g

Asus has the best bios but they kind of dropped the ball with the vrms on the z390 - not that it bad but compared to its competitors, it is a bit lackluster.

This is a tier list from overclock.net has the F model okayish.

https://www.overclock.net/forum/attachm ... 1548963030

Silicon Lottery also has a QVL list for their binned CPUs and it seems like only the top Asus boards made it.

https://siliconlottery.com/pages/intel-coffee-lake-r

If you don't plan to overclock, then it probably don't matter which one you buy na.

For CPU cooler, it really will depend on your CPU, if you plan to overclock and what you plan to do with it.

Na not the 9900k...going i7 9700k. Watching the noctua d14s cuz I really would like RAM clearance that the bequiet dark rock and the Noctua D15 not offering...also rel paranoid about going aio cuz I feeling like I might be one of those to have a bad review on it

Noctua is considered top of the line but I don't have top of the line money or need top of the line cooling. Noctua I think is also the only brand that sells you mounting hardware to work with the different sockets when they are upgraded. They are the brand that Puget systems uses and they build their machines for reliability

I am currently using an Arctic cooling Freezer i11 which is a compact air cooler with a 92mm fan

I still have my xigmatek dark Knight (120mm fan) and a xigmatek prime sd1484(140mm fan) tower cooler

They all work well but as was alluded to, you have to know what you are using the cooler for. I just want to hear as little fan noise as possible on stock clock speeds

thanks alot for this info much appreciated. going with the Noctua NH U12s as every other model from them that offers better cooling than that has either too high of a heatsink that may touch my side panel...or...its blocking off 2 of the RAM slots. i think the 12s is the ideal size for those looking for a great aftermarket cooler and dont want liquid.

just need to decide on some RAM now and its build time

the best I've come across over the past 2 years are Asus, Acer and Lenovo....in terms of reliability and repair ability

checkout loprofilepc.com not sure if he's still a powerseller on the forum but he's one of the best IMO.

Master racers I need some help with an issue.

My computer will not sleep. After running

Powercfg -request

It shows that Intel turbo boost schedule task is causing the issue

I deleted the task and Uninstalled the programme and the issue was resolved( or so I thought)

When the computer restarted it showed up again and won't sleep

Is there a way to permanently get rid of this with out affecting my overclock?

if i not mistaken intel turbo boost is an internal feature of the processor itself and there's no way to stop it via windows
you'll have to go into the bios and turn the feature off

it won't affect the overclock since manually overclocking essentially overrides it anyway

Is there any benefit to overclocking anymore. The processors themselves seem to do a pretty good job of it and you still keep the power saving features which you lose when you manually turn the dial up yourself.
