He did our kitchen cupboards, then we put him on to family members to build their house. Never had any problems. From our experience they are dependable and straightforward. Never got any surprises with extra cost or anything like that. We have some more work for them soon, extension of house. Thats in May. Daven himself is a really nice guy, gives advice and tries to help save cost.

For T&Tec its a simple transfer of the account unto your name. The previous owner just needs to write you a letter indicating they wish to put the account in your name. You can also carry a certificate of assessment from the DRO if your deed is in your name already.

TSTT usually means is a land line, and people usually take their number when they move. So its just a new application for you.
How do they go about selling the properties?

the notice says they will be sold via auction
so they would run an ad in the papers for a couple weeks announcing the auction.
but I doubt anybody would reach that stage.
these things have a process where the owner would need to be notified via legal notice
so any owner should have enough time unless they are really a scamp who dont want to pay

W&N concrete moldings in Penal did a house for me recently. They did windows ,arches over the porches and the garage , a band all around and also corner bands . They did good work and the price was reasonable . They make their own products.
Before , I always bought from CWE in Barrackpore ,they are very cheap and supply good products. They have almost all types of balusters , posts , moldings etc. With their products , they can hook you up with an installer too.

Make a jig on a piece of flat plate ,or ose large nails on a piece of heavey wood. Or do it the easy way and buy stirrups.

If you haven't bought the steel yet, buy the binders pre-bent from Reesal in Freeport.
It's more economical than to pay someone to bend it or even doing it yourself. Trust me!

Advantages:
1. You don't get wasted steel at the end of the job. When you cut up 100 lengths of steel to make binders that means you will get 100 pieces of wasted steel some as long as 3'.
2. Not having excess materials means no wasted time/labour/transport costs to remove said materials.
3. Transporting binders can be done in the trunk of your car as opposed to using a long truck. Transport savings tend to add up.
4. Time/Labour need not be wasted to build a work bench/shed and posting on tuner for diy methods of making a jig.
5. Every binder is machine bent exactly as specified. Not even the best steel man out there can beat factory made. If your aim is to compromise structural integrity for brag rights then by all means diy.
6. Machine bending cuts the production time drastically. In the construction industry time delays can lead to project downtime, demotivation & unplanned rescheduling of synergistic processes further down the line.
7. The average trini steel man out there charges more to bend binders than the factory does. You might be lucky to find a desperate Guyanese to do it for less but theft & man management can raise your cortisol levels and doctor bills whilst reducing your material/tools on site.

Call me for a discounted price from Reesal & advice on beam lengths & binder placement when you're ready to start tieing them.

Please ensure that when you are forming the stirrups that you use the appropriate size "pin" to bend the steel to the required diameter.

Mild steel, which is usually smooth, is bent around a pin three times the diameter of the steel being bent.

High tensile steel, which is usually ribbed, is bent around a pin as follows:
- Four times the diameter for steel ranging in size from 6mm to 16mm
- Five times the diameter for steel 20mm and 25mm in size
- Seven times the diameter for steel 32mm and 40mm in size

Is soil testing needed before home construction and building a retaining wall?

If you're building in an area with clay soils it's recommended that you do get some testing doesn't to determine layering Dept to ensure you pile to appropriate depts.
Obviously you should have a general so is map of the area that would advise you on to how much of the area is a predetermined type of soil

Rory , seeing that the pin size is determined by the thickness of the rods ,then buying those machine made stirrups might not be the best idea, because to me they all have corners like they were bent in a brake or a bender that makes the bend without a radius. Advise.

strong enough so that when concrete is poured over it that it doesn't perforate, so the water in the concrete can evaporate at its own speed. polythene by design wasn't developed to be strong really, just to act as a moisture barrier.

when in doubt, double layer
