Wow. Haven't noticed but will check. I am considering Amplia not so much for content but for price and the fact that many nights my flow internet has literally no speed whatsoever.

That needs an upgrade.

A 6 year old router which gets moderate to heavy use is at the end of it's life.

Been having major issues with flow this entire week.
Paying for 100mb but only getting 1 - 2 mb and ridiculous ping on speedtest even using their server. Many times the speedtest times out because the connection drops.
Websites frequently can’t load and when they do its worse than dial up

Chaguanas/Montrose area

Looks like Flow making some changes, the 100Mb packages appears to be changing to:

Essential to 50Mb/s down:

Well hopefully thats the cause of the problems. A quick reset of my modem seems to give the upgraded speed.
Although whole week I was resetting it and it gave only temporary improvement.

Yes, they will and it's easy. Just call them and tell them you have the old modem, and make sure you tell them that your internet giving a lot of trouble, like slow speeds, dropping connection etc. The first thing on their list of troubleshooting is to change the modem to the new white one.

Most likely they will send a technician to do the switch, though it should not require a technician because they can activate the service over the phone, and you would just carry in the old bundle to a head office and receive the new package and plug it in yourself. That's how it works in USA/CAN, buy your modem in a sealed box at Best Buy or other retail store, connect it to the existing cable and activate a service plan over the phone.

Using this modem since and getting my speeds... What advantage would have if I request the new modem?
Ping 24
Down mostly 50-55 (the new speeds that is same as on previous speeds)
Up 5-6

I have the same one and was wondering if there is any advantage aside from it being newer. I get my 100 easy and consistently.

that modem could handle up to Download Speed (Internet) Up to 343 Mbps , so unless it giving trouble , i'd keep it . have the same one as well.

Newer modem has Wi-Fi 802.11AC and 5GHz, so if you live in an area with plenty wifi router you'll get less interference as well as faster file transfers over your network.

New Flow Modem
The Touchstone TG2492 is a EuroDOCSIS 3.0 home telephony gateway supporting 24 x 8 channel bonding for up to 960Mbps of broadband data. It combines two FXS ports of carrier-grade VoIP, a 4-port gigabit router, and a dual band 802.11ac wireless access point with battery back-up into a single integrated device.

The TG2492 serves as the hub of service delivery in the subscriber’s home providing high-speed data, voice and IP video to wired and wireless connected devices.

The old one that I use is an Arris TM822G/NA. Seems similar to the WBM760 with slight differences like "8x4 bonded channel". It has been working well for the last 6 years with near 24/7 operation. However, it is located in an air conditioned room.
