Yep. Like global warming...the quality of the writing fm Benoit and Weiss...have been greatly exaggerated.

The real star of the show has always been George RR Martin.

So there is an advantage to not having testicles after all...

Really hope they take their time with the final season because this one was extraordinarily sub-par.

It's like time had no meaning this season. People just zip around from from one point to the next like wherever they are there is always a H1 working PH right outside of your line of sight.

On an unrelated note.... did Jon Snow just bang his aunt?

You would prefer they spend 2 episodes just traversing?

Also when has GoT ever given exact time measurements ?

Targ men does married their sisters normal normal, so bedding they tantie ent no scene. Aegon the Conqueror (who Jon is named after) took both of his sisters as wives, and all 3 of dem rode dragons when they conquered Westeros.

On another note, Lyanna was a real bad ting. Run away with a married man and make him annul he marriage and make his 2 young children bastards. She whole family and fiance thinking she get kidnap and raped, meanwhile she off in Dorne riding the Tower of Joy. Father and brother dead trying to rescue she, thousands more dead in the resulting war. Typical north gyul.

At the end of it all, GOT is really just an elaborate zombie story.

The quality of writing for most of the female characters has declined since the producers took over the plotline.

Hopefully thiz wont manifest into the final season.

Otherwise thiz will devolve into a garden variety fantasy medieval monster flik.

Previous seasons used the journey to create build up and build intrigue so that you were able to feel the true significance of the events s they happened.

Also, time played a significant role in the previous seasons. It could be used to act as an ally or enemy depending on the situation. Travelling south to help family in previous seasons was a huge undertaking. North of the wall was a vast unknown. Now Jon can go from the north to the south to north of the wall back to the south and to kings landing all in what feels like a couple weeks at most. Whereas before it took months. Pigeons are also as reliable as the internet giving rise to the westeros information age apparently.

Noticed the same. The reduced episode count per season has probably meant that they've had to accelerate some timelines to get everything done.

But some of it was just poor, dare I say amateurish writing/execution of which the most egregious example was the unrealistically short time it took to get word to Daenerys of the wight-capture expedition's peril and their ultimate rescue. It has been publicized that George R.R. Martin is still on board as a consultant but perhaps the lack of authentic source material for seasons 7 and 8 has negatively impacted the show's quality a lot more than the producers would care to admit.
