And look at the VIN plate REAL good. And ask to see the c copy. Make sure it's not listed as a normal lancer.

I say that because people bring in evolutions and use lancer rights on them. So it's not lancers pretending to be evos, but evos pretending to be lancers pretending to be evos.

nah stick to de evo, 2 checks to ensure your evo is jack warner free:

1) cert copy chassis number must start with CE9A
2) firewall chassis number must match cert

3) Ensure the car is transferred using the proper procedure.

Both the evo 2 &3 carry that chassis designation number.

but the evo number should be something like:

CE9A-01000xxxxx

where the evo 2 number just goes on as

CE9A-000000xxxx

again tho, even if its an evo3 ur getting, more than likely the engine mashup and was swapped out for an evo2 engine or something. again, this is the reason i say dont fret. just grab the cheapest.

But seriously, if you know you're gonna get the car as a project, or to beat on, it makes your choice a little wider I imagine. But there are a couple of examples out there that are pretty good all things considered......there was a red Evo 1 or something so FS here a while aback. Saw the car driving once, and it looked pretty good.
