Have a problem with my ps3 slim and super slim

Slim - was using it and the screen went blank and since then cannot get any display. The console comes on, able to put in and eject cd.

Super slim - comes on and cuts off right after

Any idea what could be the problem? Or who can fix it. Thanks.

Try a different hdmi cable. If that doesn't work try a composite cable.

Sorry that should be component cable. If component works then the hdmi is broken.

This is only the second time I've seen someone post this error code. The first guy solved it by going into safe mode, and restoring the file system and rebuilding the database.

To restore the file system do the following:-

1. Remove any optical discs from the BD drive, and turn your PS3 off.

2. Press and hold down the power button, and wait for your PS3 to power up, and then power off again.
3. Press and hold down the power button again. You will hear a beep, followed by another beep, and then a double beep. Stop holding down the power button once you hear the double beep.

4. The Safe Mode menu will now be displayed on screen. Press the PS button on your pad and select option 3 (Restore File System). Confirm the action by selecting "Yes" when prompted.

5. The console will reboot, and you'll be prompted to re-configure your display settings. Press the PS button your pad and re-configure your display settings.

6. If the PS3's file system is corrupted, then you'll get a message on-screen telling you this, and that it will need to be restored. Select "Yes", and then just wait for the process to finish.

7. Once the restore process is finished, the console will once again reboot.

8. Once the console boots back into the XMB, insert your game disc and see if the issue has been fixed.

If restoring the file system doesn't fix the problem, then repeat steps 1 to 3 above. Instead of selected the 3rd option on the safe mode menu, select the 4th option (Rebuild Database) instead, and follow all on-screen prompts. Once the PS3 boots back to the XMB try inserting your game disc again and see if the problem still occurs.

If restoring the file system and rebuilding the database doesn't fix the issue, then there could be a problem with either your HDD or console. I advise trying a different HDD first

The internals damage. It's better to get a new controller honestly

Official Gaming Console Thread (360,PS3,Wii etc)

Postby renaldo6609 » February 5th, 2019, 5:32 pm

Question, I have a ps4 and it always worked perfect until I came home this evening and turned it on, then I realized everytime I turned it on, it clicked then turned back off.
How do I know what is causing this issue? And how can I fix it?

Turn on the system and controller, and there is a small hole on the back of the controller, that is a reset button, take a pin and press it and hold it for a few seconds and then connect back to the system, should work normal after that. Had the same problem and that fixed it

If it still doesnt work after that then you need a new controller.

I have an original ps3 controller for sale if you need one

I have one of the original 80 GB MGS4 bundle 'fat' PS3s.
Unfortunately, I'm getting the 'yellow light of death' problem, and also the 3 beeps, then it shuts down. This used to happen during graphically intensive games, but now it's happening even when it's idle.

I'm guessing it's some sort of motherboard overheating issue.

Is there anywhere along the East/West corridor (or Chaguanas area) I can take it to get it looked at, and maybe repaired?

reballing the GPU usually works...but it's a ratch process thats not guaranteed in my opinion.

I reballed 4 PS3s in the past....3 of them worked well after...the fourth was dead as a doorknob. lol

i'm out of solder balls at the moment...have some coming in next week. PM me i'll see what i can do.....i dont usually charge much; board repair is just a hobby at the moment.

edit: u might wanna stay away from the average repair shop....those bastards would just take a heat gun to the GPU which can mess it up even more....YLOD usually happens when the GPU heats up to 230C+ (iirc) which causes the solder to melt / short.

Dude, been looking for somewhere to take my Ole PS2 for a while now. People either "not doing repairs any longer" or servicing ONLY what was "bought there." Update if any luck though.
