I need a good installer now

Visited VARMA last week.

Nu Wave $19.50 per ft
Wall flashing is $195 per 10 ft

Thanks man

Let us know how it turns out with this guy

Will do. rspann can you send your roofing contractors contact also?

I got a quote from this guy, his pricing was very good compared to the others (not the cheapest though). Best pricing so far is from Roof Systems. On a side note they mentioned that not all PVDF coatings sold locally are the same; they said to make sure the PDVF quoted is a minimum of 70% - didnt clarify what this means (relative mil thickness, PVDF concentration in paint mix etc), but no other supply seems to have this percentage available.

There are different load bearing strengths for the same nominal dimensions based on the type of steel (or other material) used, flange thickness, web thickness, fillet radius, etc. What is available locally is typically some of the standard grade beams but I have seen some better and some not that didn't meet spec.

You can look at some of the tables if you want to get a better idea.

Agreed, but weight per foot. You'll see I mentioned it in the building thread. I've never seen any specs of strength per inch.

Roof Mechanics does very good work. They supply, manufacture and install. I'm actually with a large contractor and I use them for most of my projects. They also do on-site roll forming and custom guttering and they're much less than the other roofing companies. Their number is 326-2787

Looking for someone to install a roof soffit and bashboard sheeting on a avg 62 x 35ft roof. Anyone have recommendations or an idea of an average cost? Gypsum guy guessed around $22,000.

I did over my roof last month 51 x 38 ft on a two story home. Only roof and guttering as soffit and bashboard were changed 3 years ago. Installation cost was $17,000 including removal of existing shingle roof and clearing site. Scaffolding extra.

So you think $22,000 is excessive for soffit and bashboard panels?

Bumping the ched...

Ok so planning to change my gable roof from galvanize sheets to standing seam.

Got some quotes and so far, Roof Systems more expensive while Roof Mechanics and Damus is at or about the same price. The thing with Damus is that some time ago, they stopped installations but will give you a list of contractors to choose from or you go with your own contractor. In this case, the price of the contractor can determine how expensive your labor costs are.

Planning to get a quote from Roofman Ltd and Lifetime Roofing.

Any other recommendations?

Lifetime is $. I did a standing seam last year and shopped around at lifetime, roof systems and George. George was the cheapest for me.

I also paid extra for PVF coatings. Its a big difference in cost compared to regular coatings...but is said to be worth it.

I believe the pvf suppose to be a superior coating to prevent color fade. I was considering those options a few years ago but both nu wave and standing seam felt flimsier than the corrugated of a similar gauge, idk. Ended up going with unpainted old school corrugated

abel block gone up. built to last selling blocks $6.25 for one up for $5.65.
the TAP (Trinidad Aggregate Product) block should still be the same price as i havent seen any release unless both being made by abel.
sheet of half inch ply was $165 and is $375 now.
Brc was $800 a roll in 2019 just before they change the $100 bill and now its $1200.

all this increase going on without a comment from govt or min of trade or any chamber.

standing seam is the best, most leakproof
it may seem flimsier because it is a flat sheet but they are narrower

Had to put off my plans two years ago due to unforeseen circumstances but i'm in a gear now.

Refreshing quotes at the moment and so far Lifetime is the most expensive.

Damus seems to be it but they outsource labor to a few of their "trusted" contractors which is my main concern.

Any reviews?

Did roof work earlier this year. Used Lifetime for materials and their total bill was less than 40k for Standing seam. This includes soffit, flashing, guttering, insulation,on site roll forming etc.

Total area was 1200sq ft. Could have been a smaller bill but the contractor used more of the larger c purlins in lieu of I-beams.

I had gotten a quote in Oct last year and it was less this year when I actually bought the stuff.

The availability of locations and availability of payment options also helps a lot. I paid in Caroni but materials were dispatched from Arima. I used credit card and Linx but you could also do bank transfer and managers check as well.
