for realz....tasker road red light isn't the safest place to be stopping at all....

they will need to up the speed limit but not only that but ensure people abide by it. If they so wanna follow the falling US, they allow you to go 5mph faster than the limit but anything over that and ticket (unless you can talk your way out of one)....so put the limit at 100kmh and tap out at 120kph but the men who drive over that (and it have alot) give them the ticket .shoulder drivers...implement something for them too but most importantly like between the hours of 11pm and 5 am all red light should not be longer than 20 secs so people would not be stationary for long and safety could be a little better off without having to break the law.

Rumble strips on the entire shoulder. Would help alert those drivers that fall asleep and drift on to the opposing lanes as well as keep pests off the emergency lane.

One would think that there are varying degrees ranging from coarse to fine, hopefully a properly "spaced" strip can minimize such an issue. I'm no expert but the only negatives I've noted from some quick reading are:

1) Rumble strips are the enemy of cyclists. Aren't there signs prohibiting the use of bicycles on our highways?

2) They reduce the quantity of accidents but can increase the severity.

Unless people consistently experience immediate/severe consequences of their actions they tend to continuously break the law.

Good move regardless.....anything to limit the ricer levels on the highway by idiots who feel dey car fass

x2......but then again, trinis tend to do things "right" when they know they're being watched.

Sounds like another of Unkle Jack's hasty ideas to me.

That said, wouldn't have been nice to have cleaned up the Licensing offices etc first, before implementing this?

we dont need technology..
we need to start from the basics..revamp the police service..fix what u already have..there is rampant corruption in the police service and alot of them jus downright lazy.

most ppl in trini dont have faith in the police.. no amount of technology is gonna change that.

^that's my point exactly..
we can barely enforce the laws that are in existence..

back for front business.

It comes down to police not enforcing the rules enough. We need radar gun laws or even the stationary sensors that report it to police on patrol. We can't regulate the highway in air-conditioned room miles away from the action.
