This seems to be a frequent issue as I have seen numerous posts about it online. The system in question was running win 8.1 pro with no skype issues but when upgraded to win10 this issue arose.

how was the update to windows 10 done..?? via the live install online or you burned it off to a DVD and installed from that ...??

the latest version of Skype is 7.30.64.150

after you start Skype don't sign in - instead click on help then click on about skype. it should tell you that version number listed above - if not click on help and then select check for updates...

Installed from USB and also have the latest Skype version.

ok strange.... on the main screen before you sign in click on tools then connection options.....

it will ask what port to use for incoming connections....type in port #47239 and put the check in the box for using port 80 and 443...then ensure the "select automatic proxy detection but UNCHECK proxy authentication.

hit ok ....

restart ur pc and try back skype... see if it works....
check to see if youre antivirus / firewall isnt blockin u from connecting... :|

the issue is not the o.s version. it has to do with your firewall. check your antivirus or internet security to see if it has a built in firewall and ensure skype is allowed to access the internet...never set the firewall to auto..some have the options to prompt everytime an application wants to access the net.....

best bet is to uninstall skype....run a registry scan to delete any old registries left by skype....restart and reinstall skype...

i have win10 and skype works normal...

I did a clean install so no chance of old registry files. Also I have no antivirus or firewall installed as yet. How can it not be an OS issue when I had no problems on the same machine with windows 8.1 installed. No firewall and antivirus as well.

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/win ... =EntMobile

The link has more technical stuff for the IT persons.

I haven't rolled that out yet cause I afraid some of the older users might be clueless lol

how do you all deal with all those extra features such as the way windows updates are done and other "anti-privacy" type features in a corporate environment?

If I try to go into "This PC > Manage" I get a nice red box saying that:
"An Administrator has blocked you from running the app."
"For more information contact the administrator."

mmc.exe

Only I am the Administrator!

How do I unbork this? Nothing online worked. Even called Microsoft tech support. Apparently the fella from the Indian subcontinent has never even heard of Trinidad!

"Trinidad... Trinidad.. In the Caribbean.... TRIN-E-DAD. Trinidad West Indies... The Caribbean... No... It's a country, not a state." *click*

"FaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarkkkkK!!!!!!"

you are not the Administrator. Windows has extra layers of security that you can't see.
Google how to login as a Super User and then change admin privileges.

Windows 10 was working like a dream from beta for me. Seems like the latest Creators Update downgraded my Administrator account or added a new SuperUser account or something because I was going into "Manage" a million times before without issue.

Well that's your fault actually. You're not a beta tester, you should wait for official releases. If you were a beta tester/programmer you would have known what to have done with regard to a Super User account, instead of calling India, who would only support official releases anyway.
Nothing wrong with Windows 10 official if installed properly.

Dude what makes you think you know a thing????

And I've been beta testing Windows builds since Longhorn so ask before thinking you know a thing. Good practice.

We're having an issue on a single laptop where Outlook 365 is running fine at the physical office, but when the computer is taken home, mail does not send. It sits stuck in the outbox.

Mail is being received.

Take the machine back to the office, mail is going fine.

There's no fancy ip settings or anything. Its a simple setup. No firewall, nothing.

OUtlook works fine on other computers at home or at the office, just this one (new) laptop is messing up.

any thoughts?

office ISP is Flow, the home ISP is Digicel

Log in to your Office 365 portal
Go to Microsoft 365 admin center by clicking Admin.
Exchange admin center go to Mail Flow.
Check your rules.

Then run wf.msc and make sure no inbound or outbound rules are applied to Exchange or Office 365.
If not, contact your IT administrator at work for them to fix the problem.

This very familiar desktop background in Windows 10. It's not CGI. It's real photography.

Image

It was done by the artist team GMUNK.
They have a huge portfolio in a lot of media and films.

They also did different colours and lens flares which are not included in Windows 10, but can be found in HD on the GMUNK page of the project. https://gmunk.com/Windows-10-Desktop

This is some amazing art.
