I can get the Acana Wild Prairie from my Vet for $435.00, she's in El Socorro,

ProPlan, Allpro, Purina, Science Diet, Pedigree are perhaps on par with the garbage sold by Pricemart where the first ingredient is corn/corn starch or some derivative of corn. All of these are just simply fillers and have no nutritional value whatsoever.

If you can always try to go grain free, the top foods are Orijen, Acana, Blue Wilderness and Blue Buffalo, Taste of the Wild. I've used Blue buffalo/Wilderness with great results and now switched to Acana, unfortunately the Orijen didn't agree with my pup.

Such a stupid statement...
Research your brands bro, Proplan main ingredient is not corn, the Puppy chow for large breed dogs main ingredient is Chicken and is an excellent starter chow for Rotties.

Another one blinded by tv commercials. Granted i may have exasperated the fact that the first ingredient was corn, nevertheless there is corn and wheat derivatives within their formula, not to mention poultry-by-products which are not fit for human consumption, so why would u feed your dog it?

Listing of ingredients in their Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice Formula:
Chicken, brewers rice, whole grain wheat, poultry by-product meal (natural source of glucosamine), corn gluten meal , animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), whole grain corn, soy flakes, soybean meal

Listing of ingredients in the Large Breed Formula for Puppies:
Chicken, brewers rice, corn gluten meal, whole grain corn, poultry by-product meal (natural source of glucosamine), whole grain wheat, animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E)

Need I say more. The only product made by Purina's Proplan which has ingredients that are relatively ok are the natural formulas and even those cant compare to the brands I listed.

Movietowne sells Blue Buffalo and the local distributor for Acana and Orijen resides in the north.

corn may not be the first ingredient BUT pro plan is not a quality dog chow, in fact it is rated as a 1 star dog food. The reason for this, is that it has very little meat content/quality, pro plan is essentially a collection of grains!

I can show you champion rotties that have been fed on ProPlan from day one.
Not disputing there are better out there, but to class those brands with Pricesmart brand chow is ridiculous.

Royal Canin is the most UNRELIABLE supplier of German Sheppard puppy chow!!!! Their is always a shortage, sometimes for months.

Acana has a more reliable supply and it's a better chow all together, grain free. I recommend Acana all the way

Yea movietown I believe has the 30lb bag for $400, there's a pet store on the eastern main road in St Augustine on the right hand side right before the underwash people. I believe he is the distributor for Blue, and he has a larger variety of flavours and sizes.

Again, rice with the back/neck/post fillet breast packs sold in Pricesmart. A tablespoon of fish liver oil you have happy dogs.

Blu Buffalo users what brand of dog food have you converted to with the shortage of lamb? and Blu Buffalo on the whole?

Apparently some company bought over Blu Buffalo and the supplier was no longer the distributor or there was a halt to his supply while things were sorted out and finalized; because I hearing the same person bringing in a shipment of Lamb month end.

I haven't tried blue buffalo actually. I've been using pro plan focus for pups. Im thinking about switching to Eukenuba tho. The guy from guru dogs said that is what he feeds his dogs because they no longer bring in evo.

i tried eukanuba, science diet, proplan, purina, royal canin, blue bufffalo(diff flaours)

However for some strange reason, my dog prefers the proplan over all.
blue buffalo is a great chow, however, i noticed my dog getting very soft/watery stool when using this. switched back to pro-plan and that solved the problem.

Eukanuba lamb is her 2nd choice, she wont eat lamb from any other brand

FYI it not wise to change dog chow regularly and abruptly. You have to introduce the new dog chow gradually. So I was told. I think its because it upsets the dog....maybe stomach bacteria-wise.

since the shortage of Blu I using this

http://www.earthbornholisticpetfood.com ... dow_feast/

nice ziploc sealed bag. satisfied with it so far. but it damn expensive!!!
