Since Gail Devers and Marion Jones no longer run (and neither of them have sex tapes), I'm not as interested in the track and field as I used to be. The women's beach volleyball and the women's gymnastics always get my attention however.

Since he's been under my management, he has broken the US record, Panam record, TT National records, placed in the top 10 at the UCI World Cups and is the first sprinter since 1992 representing Trinidad. All good stuff, he's a very talented athlete.

I will be posting pics and updates of Njisane at the upcoming Olympics.

Renny Quow, 400m men. He came 3rd at the World Championships in the 400m in 2009. Progressing well. Also Jehue Gordon in the men's 400m hurdles. Came 4th at the World Championships last year. I expect those two guys to medal for us at the olympics.

Darrel Brown has been plagued by injury season after season and has not done anything major since placing 2nd in the 100m of the World Chanpionships while still being a junior. As a junior he was unbeatable though. I think he still has the world junior 100m record.
Mark burns IMO always does well at the olympics. By well I mean he might have a rough season leading up to the olympics and always makes the 100m final. It's left to see if both of them will even qualify to run the 100 metres at the olympics because first they have a national senior championships and the top three gain automatic entry provided that they run the qualifying time and with Richard Thompson and Keston Bledman in fine form in the mix it will be difficult for Brown and Burns

so Richard and other going to the games or not, unsure about qualification procedures :|

We have a track meet locally which is the National Senior Track & Field Championships. Athletes can attain olympic and world championship qualifying standards at this meet and athletes are then selected by their performances at this meet for the Olympics or World Track & Field Championships depending on which year. Olympics are every four years and World Championships are every two years.

So for example for the 100 metre men, there are heats, semis and the final. I think the Olympic qualifying standard for the 100 metre men is usually around 10.15 seconds so in the final, the athletes that run below the time of 10.15 seconds qualify for the Olympic games but only three entrants per event per country in the sprints. So Darrel Brown, Mark Burns or Richard Thompson could come 4th at the local trials(not saying that one of them will) and will just qualify and be aprt of our relay team and not take part in the 100 metres, regardless of whether or not they have run faster times all season outside of our local trials. The first three run the 100 metres and the first five, sometimes six are aprt of the relay team.

We have a good crop of sprinters in their prime now so we can afford to carry six men. The slowest four (2nd place to 6th place at our local trials) run qualifying rounds of the relay and our top four, which at the moment IMO seem to be Keston Bledman, Richard Thompson, Mark Burns and Emmanuel Callender will run the final.

Depends on tickets and section you wanted. A of course cost more than C or D and Cartan Tours had mostly A and B and some C. Add resellers % to the ticket price too.

Kelly-Ann Baptiste in the women's 100m. She came 2nd in a Jamaica Invitational meet behind American champion, Carmelita Jeter. S Kelly-Ann looking like she could bring home a gold. She was 3rd in the 100m at the World Championships last year.

I think that Jamaican Invitational track meet was a meet where you could have achieved olympic qualifying standards. Kelly-Ann Baptiste has already made the olympic qualifying time.

Renny Quow came 2nd in the 400 metres at this same Jamaican Invitational last week but did not attain the qualifying standard. I'm not worried for him though, he still has some time and some meets to run in.

We will know for sure who is competing for us in what probably like a week bvefore the Olympic Games and after our National Senior Track & filed Championships which is sometime in mid June.

http://www.sportbusiness.com/news/18560 ... aring-deal

The International Olympic Committee and the US Olympic Committee brought an end to a long-running dispute over the share of Olympic Games commercial revenues by announcing a new deal at SportAccord Convention yesterday.

Terms of the 20-year deal, to be activated from 2020, have not been revealed, but the USOC has agreed to receive a smaller share of sponsorship and broadcast revenues from the Games. The USOC currently receives 20% of global sponsorship revenue from the Olympics and a 12.75% cut of US broadcast rights deals. The IOC felt the revenue-split deal, which dated back to the mid-1990s, was disproportionately weighted in favour of the USOC.

The Associated Press reported that the USOC would retain its current revenues, but its broadcast rights share would be reduced to 7% on any increases in broadcast deals and its marketing share would be cut in half to 10% on increases in sponsorship revenue. The deal has opened the door to a possible US bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics or the 2024 Summer Games, with the USOC having pulled back from entering a bid since Chicago finished last in the Candidate Cities vote for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

USOC chairman Larry Probst said: “From our standpoint we went into these negotiations with the objective of addressing key fundamental issues that were important to the IOC and at the same time insuring the financial well-being of the USOC on a long term basis. I think we were able to accomplish both sides of that equation.”
“We hope this has removed a road block from a successful bid from the United States," said Probst. “We have a board meeting schedule for June and I am sure that will be a significant topic of conversation. We will discuss our strategy there and probably begin to make some decisions about a potential bid going forward."

IOC president Jacques Rogge added: “This is a very happy moment for the International Olympic Committee but I believe also for the USOC as this agreement will definitely strengthen both sides. The IOC will be in a position to better function while the USOC would enhance its possibilities of having a leading role in sports in the world. This has been quite a long process, we started negotiating in May 2005, the beginning was a bit difficult and then it accelerated and we came to this very good conclusion.”
