Ainsley Laing, a South-based businessman, was killed yesterday morning when he lost control of his SUV along the Diego Martin Highway, just after KFC on Sierra Leone Road.
Police said the accident occurred at 11.50 while Laing was heading north into Diego Martin.
He reportedly lost control of his Mercedes Benz SUV, which hit the culvert on the left side of the road and flipped several times.
Laing was the proprietor of several businesses in south Trinidad, including a hotel and restaurant.
Police said several motorists called following the accident and a team of offic ers, along with an ambulance, arrived on the scene and took Laing to the St James Health Facility where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
West End police are continuing investigations.
The road death toll for the year to date is 71.

I drive on that same bend everyday, that double bend is a serious problem, it doesn't look dangerous but at high speeds the car whips back when entering the straight, it's quite dangerous and many motorists have been severely injured or have died on that double bend

Just to rectify the news papers
1) no one knows he lost controll
2) he may have hadd a health issue that cause this (thats why a postmortem will be done)
3) no one knows if he lost controll untill the postmortem is done
4) yes this is puff n stuff and a trade winds hotel share holder
5) he was originally from south but lives is town
6) this is puff n stuff rx7 first gen that used to race in wallerfield.

when reporters do stupid reports that have 0 truth they should be fired and never hired..
