Arima Grand Prix 2014... EVENT CANCELLED

my bad for the mix-up, the events i was referring to that seem to be "shrouded in hypocracy, corruption and arrogance/ignorance" are all the other motorsport events that appear to be in direct contention with D&W & apparently Karting as well.

So long as it havin' D&W, i dey............. much respect to the gladiators in de game like Rawle and others.....

1. as far as we know, yes. TTPS arima says continue as normal.
2. there have been past meeting which have been ducked by the ttps. there is a meeting scheduled in just under an hour the results of which will be made known when concluded.

legal sources sort, have stated that approvals requested for D&W continuity from the North Eastern Division, is not necessary, and deem the untimely request as highly unusual and mischievous.

TTPS approval has already been continuously granted and approved over a period of (2) years by the Arima TTPS without fail or contention. This schedule meeting should not even be necessary, but a wise notion to conclude a solution.

Yup, and here is where I will maintain that TTASA wants to host the first event for 2014.

That's why no other club will have any event, and once theirs go off without any interference etc then it will only prove that they are the masterminds behind all this set of confusion.

I was handed a 1-year suspension which expired 11sep13...the night of the ttasa elections...effectively excluding me from contesting.
& I don't think that challenging strong-arm, dictatorial, non-transparent activities are traits of unacceptable behaviour, especially when one has to be publicly vocal in order to make others aware that injustice is being perpetrated.

It appears that the Arima Grand Prix has been cancelled.

information reaching us is that the Police called TTASA Vice President Jameer Ali into a meeting this morning at around 10am at the Superintendent's Office in Tunapuna, North Eastern Division to inform him that the event will have to be cancelled citing that Arima is a high risk area aka hot spot with a high murder rate over the past month and that an event of this size may just put more people in danger.

Details to follow - a press conference may be held at 2pm today.

it seems so - but we will get the exact details as to why soon.

hopefully steps can be taken to go ahead with the event.
If not this would make it 5 motorsport events cancelled in 2 weeks:
D&W on Jan 12th - cancelled
Kart Racing on Jan 19th - cancelled
NARA Drag Racing on Jan 26th - cancelled
D&W Practice on Jan 26th - cancelled
Arima Grand Prix on jan 26th - cancelled

Good Day All,

Please be advised that the Arima Grand Prix, scheduled for Sunday 26th January, 2014 has been cancelled.

The Commissioner of Police sited as his reason for revoking approval, the fact that the area to be used for the Grand Prix was presently a "High Risk Crime Hotspot" and thus unsafe for an event of this nature. As such, the event would no longer be allowed to continue.

TTASA is sorry for any inconvenience that this cancellation will cause, but as one can see, even despite our greatest efforts, the matter is presently out of our jurisdiction.

Is camden also a hot spot? Or the whole of trinidad and tobago?
