And that election was mired in so much controversy that it induced two elections after, hence I did not mention it

1986- ulf with the nar
1995- UNC needed to MP's to cross to win
2010- the reason there was such a landslide was because it was hoped the COP would have policed the UNC. That did not happen and we had the 2015 result.
Right now even if some insane judge grant their wish, because that's the only way they can get somebody to ignore the huge numbers involved, they will have to partner with someone else to get the east-west corridor, highly unlikely now. Is not Guyana where ethnic numbers decide the election

Did you forget 2000 where UNC won 19-16

True but they were the incumbent govt. They dont have that asset here.

Not only that. Allegations of voter padding (re
al or imagined), allegations of the compromising of the ebc. That situation induced the tie and Robbie's moral and spiritual values speech and the ascent of the PNM to power. But then they could not appoint a speaker. So we had to go to the poles again. That election in 2000 was probably the most contentious election in the Caribbean after 1964 in Guyana which caused as one literature put it, awesome racial violence and the 1981 elections in Jamaica where about 700 people died in the campaign. This election in 2000 had no violence but produced the same effect, the country became ungovernable

2000 Bas beat Manning alone. But in fairness PNM has been around longer.

Wellbthe proof is that as recently as 2011, people were before the courts for practices and offenses committed before that election. If that election was defibitive, then we would not have had three elections in three years. As it is, the election that eventually became the 18-18 tie was a direct result of that 2000 election of the dissatisfaction that the previous election caused. Type in Shaloma Ali if you want to know more. Itis in an express article

Come nah man...be realistic. People had cross the floor and try to form their own party and thing. The typical UNC crab in a barrel mentality...but UNC had won the 2000 election, 20-16 fairly.

Agree to disagree and actually, the nar won one seat that year which most likely would have gone the other way. Anyway, under the current electoral boundaries, the only marginal that the pp can win by itself in chag east. San do and puna have always been unpredictable but the other four constituencies created along the east west corridor cannot be won by the UNC by themselves.

In addition, chaitan and gypsy were in court after that election for the dual a citizenship issue where the law in the electoral rules had not been altered, the case went with the election in 2001. That would have been three seats so the 2000 election was not as clear cut as you think. Plus the point-a-pierre boundary and the mayaro boundary was very different from how it is now which is why Franklyn Khan could win it the next year

Or this Padarath guy, who has been there less than five minutes as an MP, but thinks his word on issues carries weight...

The road to prosperity, lies in the achievement and maintaining of a surplus budget. Unfortunately trinidad is inadequately prepared for the current slump in oil prices, which has finally prompted the government to make some cuts, in an effort to save and eventually reimburse the HSF for monies borrowed. On the backs of all of this, amid the calls to reduce the deficit, many have realized that diversification of the economy is needed, but opinions differ as to the route and/or resource that we could develop to capture a significant enough marketshare and become rich over night. Slow and steady, is under-appreciated by the talking heads.

in trinidad there is a saying 'you full of sheit'. But here on tuner, there are quite a few posters who not just full, but overflowing. It would seem that they have an abundant and unlimited supply. It is a shame, that trinidad could not, process and package all the shyt allyuh does talk for export. Perhaps we could invest in creating contracts to give these fellows, which offer the benefits of travelling around the world to tend to customer service requests and make presentations. Feasibly it seems, that one certain market we could target would be the crop farmers around the world. Offering to replace their primary source for a monthly supply of manure and miracle grow, with a much cheaper and very potent, trinituner sheit-talker., talkin sheit in their field for a few hrs.
