Message from TTASA
Please be advised that scrutineering for all cars has been moved from Trincity Mall to the race track at Wallerfield, on Sunday 10th August, 2014 from 9.00am.

We have made this change so that all entrants, and members can see the progress made thus far, and also to lend a hand with all the things still left to be done, including painting, cleaning and final manicuring of the facility.

The stands, VIP stands and the Control Towers are being erected, and we are also asking any members with the time, to also come out on Saturday, since coming down to the wire, we need all hands on deck in order to make this a successful event.

As such, we look forward to a bigger than usual turnout, on Saturday and at Scrutineering on Sunday.

ok sounds good.
I have been asking what class your rules would put me in.
I dont run in CMRC but from the looks of it- you may need to have more than one class.

Can someone let me know what class i would fall in, as well who are some competitors in that class.

got this from the ttasa facebook page

gt2 is up from 1600cc to 2000cc
minimum weight 1600 lbs without driver and apparel

1.45 factor forced induction to obtain the capacity
.86lbs per cc to obtain the minimum weight

EXAMPLES
NA-2000cc x .86 =1720 lbs
FORCED INDUCTION - 1380cc x 1.45 = 2000cc x .86 lbs = 1720lbs

GT 1 is up to 1600cc but i think yr car has to much modifications for that class

Some photos of the track I took earlier today - Friday 8th August - showing that a lot of essential work remains to be done.

As reinforced concrete takes around 28 days to set properly the immediate execution of all the necessary repairs is now extremely important. Also, use of earth berms around the track seems somewhat dangerous as it could launch cars into the air.

first corner at the end of the straightaway is a killer..
from a long wide straight to a narrow right turn.. that turn use to be wide
plus a concrete and a dirt ramp in case u run off..
its gonna be interesting

that only means the track has become more competitive.....it's a pity the 'back' after the DaCosta was not ALSO made more competitive........but then...

Doesn't the corner just become a slower one with braking point further back? Once penalties are put in place for people running into the back of cars and dive bombing it should not really be an issue.

Agreed. Seems a lot of concern is being raised about this corner, I trust they will be having key discussions with the drivers and stewards about rules and penalties to ensure the racing is kept clean and safe for a good showing for this 1st International event. Anyone has Charlie Whiting's number?? Lol

of course.....ONE 'stoopid' preson was under the delusion that he had 13-inch brake rotors on all four & involved-up five cars in his sheit........
.
I hope the certified race stewards & other authorities who will be in attendance ensure that the pre-race briefings, etc will be relevant to the overall safety of all drivers during competition.
ditto here to F1speed:

Race stewards will need to take a few laps to understand the drive

I, for 1 , am glad it's a two-car entry (& single-car if yr defending yr position)..........that's why I commented that "it's a pity the 'back' was not made more competitive than just a pedal-to-the-floor exercise...
