Just passed an accident scene by the Nagar turn off ..southbound lane. Looks pretty serious and lots of emergency response vehicles on the scene.

The hilux accident it actually seemed to be the back seat passenger who died and was probably not wearing his seat belt and all vehicles have been coming with rear seatbelts since the 1990s so shouldn't the better question be "when are they going to make it a requirement to wear your seat belt in the back seat as well?"

Ok I just got the actual story on the Hilux crash from a coworker. The driver is his extended family.....

Old man in the back was ill for some time. They were returning from a regular Doc visit, dialysis or something like that. He suddenly passed away in the back seat and the caretaker in the back with him yelled out in despair. Naturally the driver was startled and turned around to see what happened. That is what caused her to run into the truck.....

Old man was already dead. That's why the pics show him dead in the back with no obvious injuries.

From the caretaker's mouth...

2 men died in a car crash in Laventille on Sunday night.

A young girl survived, but was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

According to police, the three were in a Nissan Tiida travelling along Eastern Main Road when in the vicinity of the Success/ Laventille Secondary School the vehicle skidded and crashed into a lightpole.
