There are some lame 3D channels available with the current HD package.

What is the point of HD if more than half the shows blocked. You will just see the same notice telling u to watch local tv, except in HD  I am never taking back flow cable, never.

The current SD looks like 144i upscaled to 480i so I guess they upgrading to 360p upscaled to 720p now?
Or even 144 upscaled to 720?

Not to mention you paying $275 a month to watch ads. Each show has at least 25% of its time allocated to ads.

Agreed. I got a set top box with HDMI output sometime in January although I only ordered the basic package. Never tried it cuz the tech said that's only for if you have the HD package and is disabled otherwise. Will check to see if it works when I get home and update on HD channel availability.

Flow's current HD goes up to 1080i.
720p looks cleaner, IMO
Both are not as clean as Direct TV nor Apple TV SD.
Maybe optical fibre will bring improvements to the picture quality.
PS: Flow SD = Eye Bleed

This comes with cloud service....no need for a dvr...all your recorded programs are in the cloud. Picture is cleaner. Different box....modem has a built in router...so no need for a wireless router if you dont have one.

Price is a bit more....but in line with the previous HD package I think....or even less. All channels that are in HD will be available. Didnt even know there are 3d channels....

I've had their HD for a few years and honestly it isn't worth it. There are two 3d channels Wild and Wealth I believe are the names, nothing fancy unless you want a headache. When I adopted the system I paid $1000.00 for the box, then the usual monthly rental and channel costs. Lets see what they do for the existing users, this is the first I've heard of this.

^ their basic package is actually TT$10 cheaper than Sling TV, but not the same content.

would be great if it was all a-la-carte so I choose exactly what channels I want and pay for that.

half of most packages have stuff that I will never watch and the add on packs have just one channel that I want to watch.

There is the flow your own, 7 channels from any of the ad on packages for 35$ a month

u need to have flow basic as the min requirement.. so u can pay 150$ avg for the bare basic package and just pay 35$ extra and choose the 7 channels u really watch... But sad thing is your gonna call customer care and you may get that dud that may tell u something else.

I currently have this with standard cable. I pay $35 for 7 channels including BBC America, DIY, Discovery Science etc

but this didn't seem apparent with the new advanced service - I'll check it out and report here
