I am currently waiting on one for my 8 month old, i was told first time applications usually takes 3 months as they need to validate all the info we submitted i.e with Hospital, Legal affairs etc.

Applied for our babies (twins) on 20th March and only collected the passports on Monday 13th July.

First time applications, you'd be lucky if you get it back before 3 months.
Renewals are also taking about 6-8 weeks.

First time application here, took about 10 weeks earlier this year - child was about 13-14 months at the time.

Applied when my infant was 4months, it took six week. You pay no processing fee for infant passports.

There is a temporary document that you could use if you are traveling to a Caribbean country
